I will explain briefly...

Combustion cannons... use fuel or propelant such as propane or mapp... or can use hairspray or something w.e is flammable... they work by igniting w.e flammable fuel is in your chamber thus igniting the fuel and this creates pressure in the chamber...then this pressure is applied onto your projectile and it flies out...

Pneumatic cannons... use valves usually piston valves and compressed air... when the valve is opened all the compressed air exits the chamber and the pressure is applied on the projectile... the projectile is shot.. tada

Hybrid cannons.... use both fuel AND compressed air... first the fuel is injected into the chamber (preferably a metal chamber) then compressed air is put in the chamber... then the fuel is ignited creating pressure... the valves used in hybrid cannons are usually burst disc valves... a burst disc is just a simple disc made out of common material that has an specific break point...

The guns work on pure imagination. None of us actually make guns, we make tiny clay models and show them off, jeez I thought you would have noticed by now, its not like this stuff is possible. it would be WAY to complicated.

PS: most of them are like an inch long so it takes alot of skill. if you make it longer than 2 inches you get laughed at.

The basic fundamentals are the same for all cannons. That is to use pressurized gas to propel a projectile down range and place rounds on target.
