New combustion igniter

STORY:
One day i was messing around with this car i made. It had a 3v motor on it. I though "hey that motor is pretty weak." so i went to my shop and got a 14.4v drill battery and went back to my car. I wired it up and turned on the power. The motor Jumped and lit up. I looked at it, no major burn or anything. After that i just finally figured out looking back at that moment "that would be a good combustion igniter" so i did the similar rig and look at the sparks then determined that it would be a good igniter.

Theory:
A 3v motor will light up big time when the power going towards it is quadrupled. So, If you put some holes in the casing of the motor the fuel of a combustion cannon will get ignited. So theres a new option for a combustions sparker.

(i haven't seen this method used yet so i posted it here, tell me if you've seen it.)

Unpredictable ignition, not safe. I don't think you can get a consistent firing time shot after shot.

What do you mean about unpredictable? like when the sparker is activated it will give a spark at an unpredictable time?

Exactly. An electric motor will not always spark, not to mention the decreased life expectancy of the motor after you more than quadruple the input voltage.

Besides, Tasers and BBQ sparkers are much easier to implement. Heck, even a camera flash unit would be easier and more consistent than a motor.

true true. But looking at the motor having a constent light come out of the motor makes it look like it has some hope.

The problem is, especially when using it as a sparker, the brushes inside the motor will eventually get fouled up, preventing ignition, and leaving you with a loaded cannon, wondering why it didn't go off. That's not safe.

Besides, its generally not a good thing if you have a "constant light" coming out of the motor.

True true again. The motor was crap so i didnt care. but ur right. thinking about it. it would only be a igniter for a short time. Motors are probalby the last sparker you"ll wanna use
