Q about pneumatics (please respond)(please)

ok im new to spud guns in general (i have only built 1 combustion) and im of a young age.

my question is: how do the diaframs (sp?) work? i get the bsic concept but i dont really know how to build /operate one (yes i have found articles and tutorials)...i think i want to go with the "floating diafram"


please respond to my account , this page , or burntfaceman420 (my aim)

and a random question is : do they sell pvc at home depot...probably not (whoa unexpected rhyme)

thanks i looked on there the other day but not for that....on my next cannon im gonna go with a sprinkler valve but for now im gust gonna go with a diaphragm (got it right that time) so should i just put it in there without really understanding it...and learn later

Guys, the spudwiki artical is basicaly operation therory, and basic construction. It doesn't go into detail as much as it should.

Personaly, I'v made 2 diaphram valves. One has issues getting it to seal - the pilot volume is tapered, so avoid that if possible - and the other sealed well, and had a sealing surface shaped like this. =[( (equals sign is the pilot valve, ( is the diaphram.
(the one that worked well was retired due to the use of a clean out plug.)

Information on bike pumps is in the wiki.

Yes, they sell PVC at home depot, and will probably have pressure rated up to 3 or (if you are lucky) 4". The fittings selection is rather limmeted and you won't find pressure rated things above 1.5" - which may or may not be an problem.
