Suspension compressor thread

Hi
I have decided to buy a suspension compressor, pumping air using a stirrup pump will take too much time beetwen each shot.
It was pretty cheap, cheaper than a good tyre compressor. Unfortunetely, my power supply is not efficient enaugh, and the compressor cant compress air. Tommorow I am having it running by a simple high current supply, I hope I will be also able to measure the pressure
The piston has about 1 inch diameter, still i dont know exactly power of the electric motor

here is the pic of connecting rod

thx for posting it...
it seems that those compressors can be as good as fridge compressors
at least this particular one looks quite sturdy

do you happen to be from poland ? your name is a well known brand of beer here :D

The piston has about 1 inch diameter
I've missed that earlier... I am afraid it might not be able to produce high pressures

1" piston has about 4.5 square cm of area surface.. since pressure is weight/area (kg/square cm in case of atm) then at 1 atm you've got 4.5kg and at 10 atm that's 45kg...
the good thing is that it should have high flow... so it seems that this compressor is exactly the opposite of the fridge compressor - it produces high volume of air but at low pressure

so I guess that you should get a fridge compressor... but keep the one you have you might find it useful one day (for example when you decide that you want to build a pressure booster)

The piston has a large-ish diameter indeed, but it still looks like a nice compressor.
With enough torque it may go higher, but for some real high pressure you should get a fridgy.

Hi
Today I will not check the pressure which this compressor can give :?
I haven't got proper manometer
Let's wait till monday

Uff, everything works fine
Still i havent checked the maximal pressure (I dont want it to explode in my room  )

In a few days time I will check it

hmmm it looks promising..

and even if it won't be able to reach high pressures it might be quite useful to have such a portable compressor
