1. Removed the flow control mechanism by unscrewing the top screw and unscrewing the bottom piece.
2.)Tapped and inserted a 1/4" NPT fitting in the top of the valve.
3.) Removed the Solenoid, and filled the hole with epoxy.
Without the bottom part of the flow control valve, all the air from the chamber vents through the blow gun, and nothing out of the barrel.
4.) Cut the top part of the bottom piece of the flow control valve so that the piece didn't hit the 1/4" NPT fitting. Filled the hole in the middle of the flow control valve with epoxy, so air didn't just go straight from the bottom of the diaphragm to the vent through it. Screwed the bottom piece of the flow control valve back in.
At this point, no air would vent through the blow gun, as the bottom of the flow control valve totally obstructed flow.
5.) Drilled a very small hole through the hard center part of the rubber diaphragm. This was intended to equalize pressure between both sides of the diaphragm.
When tested, again all the air would go out through the blow gun, with nothing going through the barrel.
I hope this explains everything. No time for additional pictures tonight.
Hopefully a brainstorm is forthcoming.
