"I guess you don't know that longer barrels won't make the ammo go farther or faster infact it makes it go shorter and slower due to the ammo has to travel farther in the barrel with less pressure as it move down the barrel. if i were you i would cut it down to 3 feet and it will shoot better (maybe not as accuratly but who cares)"

I just saw this comment. it is correct is some cases but wrong in others.
If youre chamber incresces in size youre barrel can increact too to get more velocity and further distanced.

Although I dont think this deserved a poll, but it all comes down to how long is long and the volume of your chamber.

With a "shorter" barrel the pressure in which is creating the force to push the projectile is not allowed to fully act upon the projectile, although friction is less.

With a "longer" barrel the pressure in which is creating the force to push the projectile is allowed to fully act upon the projectile, although friction is greater.

I must note usally anything is not good when using on of the extremes, rather a "happy median".

"Long" barrels are not good for an aerosol cannon but are for any others. You have probably only experimented with guns with bad mixture or something because if the ratio is around .6:1 or .8:1 then there will be your best performance.

There is a difference between long and too long. You may be speaking of the "too long" part. If you are using a barrel that creates anything below .6:1 that is not good. There is a very fine line there. .6:1 is the best ratio for propane but if you go even to .4:1 you will lose 19% of your possible muzzle velocity. Going to .3:1 will cause a 36% velocity loss. If you go down to .2:1 your spud wont even leave the barrel.
