i am kinda new here and i am wondering what kinds of additional accessories you guy's like to incorporate to your cannons.

in the past iv used folding/removable stocks, shoulder straps, iron sights, red dot sights, AGOC sights, scopes, night vision scopes, IR scopes, IR strobes, silencers, bi-pods, tri-pods, high/low intensity lasers, flash lights, LEDI's and assorted under barrel grenade launcher (forgot flame thrower)

i am really interested in what you guys add on to your cannons for extra flavor!

Actually, a small level (small bubble glass) would be an awesome accessory for a spudgun, now that I think about it. I would glue it to just under the rear sight Check this out, for instance:

A rangefinder would be neat too, but pricey. A shotgun scope perhaps? I find red dots are just about useless on my smoothbore spudguns, I usually prefer open sights.

Yeah, I've used them before and they are outstanding in a paintball game, especially using alternative (read: spudguns) equipment. The one's posted simply have a vertical line with several horizontal lines crossing it at certain points, and each place it crosses is supposed to represent a certain distance. Basically, it works like a flip up sight found on an M203 grenade launcher.


Speaking of, there are a few scenario paintball websites that sell these flip up sights. They would probably work for a spudgun accessory as well.

LOL, i don't realy play video games too much but thats what it sounds like.

What accessories?
well... i personally, think that it's bad to put ready-made things on a spudgun and that if you put enough effort in to something it can look just as good.
(also it sort of ruins the point of a "homemade" spudgun.)

That variety works by assuming that golf pins are a fixed size, then working out how far it is away by how big it appears to be. They do not use laser measurement, and they are only any use if you're measuring the range to something the size of a golf pin.

If you want a range-finder for spudding, you have to go with a laser variety, and you're just not going to find one for that kind of price. If it's that cheap, you're looking at the wrong product.

Hmm... You are correct actually. As a caddy I should know that...Then again, I always use laser rangefinders when caddying.

For the serious spudder, a decent rangefinder can be had for less than the price of a basic digital camera.

Many of the inexpensive golf sights are simply a reticule for estimating your distance from an object of a known height (the flag). When spudding, you seldom have a person that tall downrange or a golf flag. I recommend a split view rangefinder instead. It uses parallax to measure the distance. They are larger and work even without a reference height at the target.

One reviewer reviewed the Bushnell rangefinder and had this to say;

My 1970's vintage SLR camera uses one. When the guy's head is not split, it is in focus. It makes focusing in dim light simple.

Well this gun has a nice homemade scope on it.

I like to put stickers on my cannons. they make it shoot faster.
