Some of those PCP air rifle pumps might get you up there. Is a long time since I researched those so someone else might have tips on them.

Technically, attaching a high pressure pump to a crank would work. You need to think about cooling too at those pressures.

Due to valving, seals, air becoming smaller as it compresses, etc, that pressure is impossible to reach in a single stage pump with any volume, and extremely difficult with a 2 stage pump. Research 2 stage pumps for the displacement and pressure step for each stage, then design for 3 or 4 stages for 4500 PSI. The final stage will have a very small displacement.

i found one compressor called the shoe box on youtube it pumps up to 4500 psi and i was thinging about coping his design i think its a 2 stage compress not sure but it runs with a reaguler shop compressor pushing air in to it then it has two what looking like hand pumps attached to an electric motor so i dont know what kind of stage it is

most HPA hand pumps are three stage, though that exact example doesn't reach 4500psi there are pumps that do

He's talking about Tom Kayes "Shoebox". It's out with various members of the paintball and airgun communitys for testing and "bug" detection. So far it seems to be working perfectly for those testing it.

Cost is supposed to be around the $400US mark IIRC. Pretty good value IMO.

A question for the op though...if you don't understand it...what makes you think you could copy it and end up with a working...let alone SAFE product?

i kind of understand it but im not one hows really going to be makeing it my dad is hes an eniganeer and is getting tired of paying for fills and wants to build a compressor the shoebox is just one of the designs i found that seems simple a nuff to build

it doesn't seem that complicated

If your dad's building it, and he's an "eniganeer" ( ) then why are you asking us for help? He should be more than up to the task.

What kind of "eniganeer" is he? Mechanical, Aero space, finger painting etc. :)

ps......spell check....

hes a mechanical eniganeer sorry for the mis spell i want asking because he wants to build a big like scuba compressor but i he cant any info on it so i was showing the shoebox

well it isn't complicated at all... that FX compressor is even simpler and he might want to consider copying that design instead...

if he has a good shop compressor he might as well build a pressure booster

Is it a good idea to sue grease with HPA stuff?
