Our Stratasys Dimension is still running... bit out of your price range though.

I'd rather have this matter solved within 1k, but if something around the 3k range that is a true work horse I'd take it.
currently looking at the cr-10 pro then have a custom build enclosure and temperature control.
Or Just order a 500x500x500 ball screw structure...

Would a piece of O ring material work as a hop up ? or would it be too hard ? I need it more to stop the BB's rolling down the barrel as well.

It should work, this design is used in several airsoft models.

You could also just use a neodymium magnet if you are just trying to keep the BBs from rolling out'a the barrel.

Anybody tried this air bleed idea as a hop up ? downside is it bleeds of some air but there is nothing to wear, a rubber sleeve covering the hole could be used as adjustment

Oh boy if you start digging into hop up that amount of bullshit you're gonna find...

Tried the rubber hop up thing, it seems to work, at about 120 feet using the scope I can see the BB dip slightly then climb :D

Considering the power output of homemade airsoft gun you should be getting considerable more range than before. Depending on BB weight 70m plus range should be well within your capabilities.

That was only at 90psi, I have my eye on a 200psi compressor with 150psi constant output

90 psi is more than enough.
I got 650 fps with 75 psi with a QEV+3 way combo. 650mm barrel.

Agreed, the point of hop-up is to compensate for low projectile density and velocity by providing lift. If you're not limited by safety considerations for skirmishing, pushing heavyweight (0.45g+) BBs at higher velocity should give you longer useful range regardless.

Tippmann actually use a curved barrel in their "flatline" modification to generate backspin in their paintball markers:

I believe some early airsoft guns also used this system.

For "our" purposes however, I believe that using denser projectiles fired at higher velocities is a better path to longer range.

Imagine what you could do with 30 times the pressure...

Don't take GGDT as gospel at the extremes but a Mach 2+ 100 ft lbs+ air"soft" launcher is more than feasible with higher pressures...
