I remember seeing that one before. It is built by an amature radio operator. It is a line tossing cannon for putting antenna wire up in trees. The spool on the muzzle is fly fishing supplies.

I've seen this type of launcher before too, but what is of interest here is the "scope".

From the author:
I am currently working on a BBTS or Basic Ballistic Trajectory Solver for the Android OS. The idea is to be able to input the distance to the tree, assuming the tree will be located under the peak of the trajectory, Tree Height + some padding , Tennis ball weight (for drag force calculation, I have data for the average drag coefficient of a tennis ball), Air density/Altitude (again for drag) and additional drag value (caused by line, the ball is pulling - there is no easy way to model this so it needs to be determined experimentally and entered as correction to the drag force)

The output will be a firing solution - Angle and required Muzzle Velocity. The tricky part will be to establish the correlation between the air tank pressure and the initial velocity of the ball leaving the barrel, but I'll work on a way to figure it out (police radar?).
A much simpler application could be written where inputs like target distance, wind speed and direction, temperature, altitude etc. could be fed and an aimpoint be calculated.

Wow thats cool! I wonder if its available for ipod, if so, I may stop spending money on spudguns and work on getting an ipod.

I doubt this'll get ported, android was made for devs, apple for money (yes, I'm very biased).

As soon as my data pack comes through, I'll be getting it, thanks for the link. I'll just have to zero it.

Goddamnit JSR you beat me to it!

Very cool nOnetheless, I am an iPhone user, found a similar mapping app but don't think it's quite resale, I'm gonna do some testin. Who knows, this could be the next big thing in spudguns

Haha yes I haven't been round much, I've been too broke to build anything. Refurbishing my toolies valve tho and hoping to get that all done and make into a high pressure "grenade launcher"style gun. I'll post pctures

That´s so f**king cool  Now I´m going to buy a new phone for this :? have anybody tried yet? witch phone is compatible with that?

I agree; this definitely merits a new phone. I need a plugin to do the ballistic calculations, and perhaps estimate range and correct for wind.

there is a similar one for the iphone called the geocam, its free. the display doesn't look exactly the same, but more or less the same thing.
