Im a going to sleeve some pipe
Does the sleeve have to be air tight?
My opinion is yes, air would escape through the hole that is cut into the pipe and would escape around the sleeve

Your opinion helps!!!!

If it isn't airtight, a filler material would make it so. However, most cases of pipe being sleeved result in an airtight connection anyways. Some instances require a certain amount of labor with a hammer and such things to get the pipes to cooperate.

yes imo for that reason id say don't use a sleeve but put threads on the end of your barrel

I found put that a shotgun casing fits well over the 1/2 inch copper tubing and air right

It doesn't have to be perfectly air tight, but it helps. Something a little tighter than the recommended fit for piston valves should be good.

I used a 1 1/2 couplin that is sanded out enough that it slides over the sdr 21 1.5 inch barrel pipe perfectly :D

Definitaly having it air tight helps. However I dont think ist the end of the worl if it leaks a bit.
