piloting a piston valve

My piston valve will pilot with a q e v, however, will not pilot with a sprinkler valve, or a ball valve! Why???? Please note, the sprinkler valve works fine on all my other cannons and the piston in question is a 1 1/4 coupler, plugged at both ends, neoprene washer attached with a bolt going through the whole coupler. As I said, works great with the q e v!! Housed in a 2 inch Tee!

Without knowing the SIZES of the valves you're attempting to use to pilot, and accepting that it DOES pilot with the qev...I'm gonna say:
Your piston is too loose.

Given the available data, I venture to agree with you.

If a 3/4" QEV will pilot the piston theres no reason what so ever a properly working 1" sprinkler valve wont pilot the same piston.

Something is wrong with your piston, because alot of people use sprinkler valves for a pilot!!!

Show us the piston? What sort of gap do you have between piston and chamber?
