The )DEMON( vertical piston valve

This is designed to be a quick opening valve for small pneumatics, it is super simple.I called it the )DEMON( vertical piston valve because I think this is a new idea, )DVPV( for short.

Call me dumb, (please don't), but shouldn't your piston slant be from the lower right to the upper left, so when you release the pilot resavior the presure forces the piston open?

Otherwise i like the idea, and i think a bigger valve could be made this way. Looks like it will open very fast, a straight push to the barrel.

Well,I don't think it will matter,I will use a threaded 'T' so I can try it both ways.

Would'nt the air go right around the piston? There's something almost identical to this on spudtech called the PL3X valve, you can't stop the air from going around a piston.

Not to discourage you, but that is going to be nearly impossible to seal and still have it be able to move. Good idea anyway :D

Maby if you used a snug fitting piece of pipe for a liner, and bored holes in it from chamber to barrel, then fitted a piston in the liner??? Maby?

I now see the problem with getting it to seal just with the tee and piston, they should make a flat inlet so you could use a flat piston.

I know you can buy flat slide pool valves from Hayward and Douboy, they have tee handles on the out side, but they are hard to slide, and the most pressure i ever seen one hold is 60psi when wet.

They had a whole discussion about this same idea on spudtech and could'nt think of a way to fix it.

orange = chamber
black = sealing liner
yellow = air inlet
dark blue = houseing tee
light blue = barrel
red = piston

Pretty much self explanitory, what do you all think?

All sizes can be custome tylered to what ever you want.

what if you used a 4 way and let the piston go a little higher

You could cut the barrel at an angle and have the piston seal against it, basically a barrel sealing valve at an angle. You could also put an elbow on the end, if you can get the elbow in the tee.

I have fixed the problem, last night I saw that it wouldn't work so I slanted the barrel and well, just take a look at the pic.

How is the air from the chamber going to push the valve open? I know that when you releave the pressure from the pilot chamber the valve opens, but the air from the chamber is sapossed to help by forceing the valve open with the pressure, makeing it fast opening. I'm not saying your idea wont work, it will. It's just that haveing the slants the way you have them in your drawing, it's going to block alot of the air from the chamber by not letting the pressure assist the valve to open, know what i'm trying to say?
