my piston valve...?

i am planning on building a piston valve SIMILIAR to the one on bc vids. The difference is that instead of just glueing (with screws too) a cap into one end of the tee, i am going to put a shorte piece of pip with a femal threaded adapter and then use a threaded cap. The piston will move inside the short piece of pip. everything else is the same. That way i can modify the piston and play wit it if it doesnt work at first.

Would there be any problem with the area behind the piston being slightly bigger?? or any other problems that u guys might see?

the cap isn't glued on in that video, the plug is placed into the fitting and secured there with screws for maintence
