If you have a compressor then you can just screw on a schrader and pump air to ventilate it, thats better than blowing, then again if you dont have a compressor i doubt a bike pump will cut it and if so it is the same effort as blowing.

i used a chamber fan once,saved about 2minutes of blowing down the barrel.but it ran outta batteries and never could be stuffed replacing them.

Why would he need to move his gauge?

Once he screws in his propane tank and opens the first valve it'll fill to whatever psi he needs, then he closes the first valve and opens the second, closes the second and fires... What difference does it make if he uses the propane tank valve or not?

Well frogy, because if he uses the ball valve to control the flow, the psi guage will only show what the tank pressure is. He would never get an accurate reading on what his pipe pressure is unless he always matched it to the tank pressure which wont give him any consistancy.

The best way to fix this is to spend an additional $10-15 on a pressure regulator and never worry again.
