Is there a way to rifle a barrel at home without spending much money? (5$ max)?

Get a dowel a little smaller than your barrel ID, put screws in, and pull it through while twisting. Not too good, but a few have turned out well.

If it was that easy then Joel from spudtech wouldn't be selling and making money off of them. you need a lathe or something similar to a lathe, plus you need lot of experience. Just buy a barrel from spudtech, it willl turn out a lot better then what you can do with 5 bucks.

Dan. You don't need a lathe. You need a custom made machine and some free time.

I've come up with two designs for a rifling machine, one of which worked with a one foot length of 3/4" SCH-40. It's very simple, and about two seconds worth of Googling will turn up all you need, so don't ask me how.

The best idea I have come across so far for home-brew riflers is not cutting the rifling. There is a guy on the internet who's hobby is making blowguns. He has come up with the SIMPLEST, most GENIOUS way to rifle a barrel.

This involves LAYING IN the rifling rather than cutting it in.

For his blowguns, he cuts cones out of plastic that seal in the barrel of his blowguns. Then, he cuts 6 slots out of the sides of the cones. Attaching a pull rod to the cone, he then slides it to the bottom of the barrel and pours hot glue on the top of it. Then, he pulls the cone up twisting at the same time, which creates hot-glue "tracks" in a spiral shape, which dry and acts as rifling.

Not, these are for blowguns. I suggest a high-viscosity epoxy instead of hot glue. This will be more durable than hot-glue, (which undoubtedly will strip out on the first shot...)

There is an easy way to do it,and there is no lathe required at it will cost u no more then $5 if u have a few tools and a few small hardwear item.This si a DIY i made for rifled barrel have fun.
