Has anyone tried wrapping their cannons with fiberglss? It would seem that it would add a lot of strength, as well as help protect it if dropped in the case of pvc..

it would be expensive and dangerous, fiberglass can give you nasty rashes(or something like that) and cancer if you use it to often.

Come on dude, everything can be dangerous if not done properly. Yeah I think fibreglass would be a good idea but if you were to go to those lengths I would just make it out of steel or a sort of alloy.

Ok, that is the first time I think I have ever heard someone describe using fiberglass as dangerous or expensive.. It is both cheap and safe.. Never seen someone repair a boat, or form a motorcycle seat pan with it? Both the actual fiberglass cloth, and the resin/hardener are cheap.. Just make sure you're wearing a cloth dust mask when cutting the cloth, and use the chemicals in a well-ventilated area if you don't have a resperator..

It has extremely high tensile strength as well as impact strength, and is very light weight. It would also work well for forming a handle and such.

Besides the strength it would add, it would make for a very nice paint finish when sanded down.. There is a lot of potential benefits to using it.

It would seem that no one has done it yet, so perhaps I will have to be the first. It might make an abs cannon capable of using mapp gas without bursting a seam..

it can give you a rash or soemthing if you dont use protection and a famous New Zealand super bike builder, built the fastest super bike back in the 90's outta fiberglass and he got cancer from it as he didnt use protection.

There is no reason to reinforce somethin that if built correctly should never need it.
