It would be. You don't need to put paint primer on, nor will painting it affect the performance.

You should use Fushin(sp) paint. It sticks to plastic better. Warsh your gun/cannon with warm soapy water, and let it dry before painting. Getting it really clean will make the paint last longer, because it will stick better.

Krylon Fusion is the best kind of paint you can get for PVC. PVC is actually listed on the can of what is paintable with it.

Just a fore thought for you. I have always painted my guns. I personally use Duplicolor primer and paint. I prime several layers, sanding in between, followed by several light coats of paint to build the color and always finish with a clear coat . . . lots of it, like on a car. A good paint job takes more patience than anything else because you have to go slow for it to come out good. Several light layers is better that one heavy coat. Take it slow and you will have good looking gun. The crappy part about all of it is that if you use the gun, it WILL get scratched up. My guns only look great until delivery. Then they get used and scratched. Check out my Harley Tribute gun under combustions to see an example of my latest work.
