I'll be posting some questions here addressed to this sites hard-workin' admin, if he wants, he can answer them...

1)When was the last time you built a cannon?

2)What type of cannon was it?

3)What type of cannons do you prefer?

4)When did you decide to make a site devoted to the best hobby ever?

5)Why did you decide to do so?

6)Do you have any other sites you moderate/administer?

Thanks for reading my post,
Taternat.... er.... Leav

contrary to Microsoft's opinion, searching the internet for ethernet drivers does not go over so well.

Well leav...

hehe I just realised that I need to make a quick reply box :P

The last time I built a cannon would be over a year ago. It was a simple combustion... but stupid me made it too big to use without a chamber fan and propane. So now it is just sitting under my bed with the rest of my cannons.

Personally I like pneumatics for their power, but combustions for their portability. I don't have a compressor myself... so a pneumatic is sort of useless to me. If I was to build another cannon (or finisih a cannon) it would be my large combustion so I can show it off when I go places where I could shoot.

I decided to make this site over a year ago... One day on The Screen Savers (computer TV show) they had the Backyard Ballistics guy on there showing them a crappy pneumatic cannon. I got interested and went googleing... then I came acorss http://www.spudtech.com and their old forums. I posted a bit and got even more interested. I decided to build my first pneumatic (found in the my cannons page under "Other") and was amazed at shooting caulk tubes across my backyard with a crappy ball valve and bike pump.

I decided to stick around the forums to learn more... soon Spudtech got the new snitz forums. That's when I made myself something... I actually started as a big post whore. One day somehow I got the bright idea to do something for the people at SpudTech to make them like me... so I started the Spud Cannon Database (now called SpudFiles). At first people thought of it as me stealing content, but soon they realised that I was just trying to make a collection.

After going on with my site, I became more popular at SpudTech. One day I asked Joel if I could be a mod of the General section. He said sure and I kept that place as clean as my butt. After seeing that, I was granted mod powers to more of the forum... untill I was a golbal mod. Edventually after seeing my knowlage of computers and my ever growing and changeing website, I was made admin. That is where I stand now.

The only sites I actually have power on is Spudtech, and this website (duh it's mine). I am also a member of http://www.ocforums.com and I am a beta for Peer Guardian 2 over at http://www.methlabs.org

Interested in any other info?

Just kicking up a old post because i got some time to kill and i'm bored and i don't feel like doing what i should be doing rite now. So i ask myself --Self, what was the first post on spudfiles? This is the earlyest one i can find. I think there are a few ahead of this, but not sure.

Interesting to find out how this site got started.

Youd don't have to answer this but do you make money from this site? or does all the money you make go towards this site? And this is just a hobby. Not pressuring you or anything but it would be great to a new gun from you.

You mean to see a new gun from him? I think so too. You should start a contest and build a gun that beats everybodys!
