How cold is TOO cold?

My friend is coming over tomorrow and we were planning to shoot some spuds, but the weather forecast says its going to be cold. Is the low 40s too cold for pvc?

EDIT: We are trashing an old Emachines computer, and I found this bike pump chamber that fits perfectly down my barrel. So is there any radioactive content that could be dangerous?

if it's cold you can still shoot... just fuel it up inside shoot it outside...

I thought pvc becomes brittle in cold weather?

It does but you could probably do it if you store it inside or bring it inside for about 10minutes after a couple shots. I also plan on shooting mine tomorrow and its supposed to be around 40 here too

it does get brittle, just dont let it freeze. Pneumatics are what you need to watch in cold weather because they hold high pressure for a longer duration. Combustions only hold moderate pressure for a fraction of a second and the burning fuel actually helps keep the PVC from freezing.

I live in louisiana, and they said it's supposed to be in the 'teens tonight. I just keep my gun in my room next to my floor heater and then shoot out the window. ^_^

Low 40's is fine, it's when you get below freezing and such is when you need to start to worry.

Or use metal for your spudgun, and then you can use it in any weather!

Given typical British weather, I use copper a lot...

Yeah, I was just talking about my combustion PVC guns there. Me and my friend were shooting paintballs around with my modified marble machine gun last night, and it was thirty-something at the time.

Well blink and you'll miss the winter too...

Its the 8th of December and we might finally have some frost

I'm harbouring suspicions that we're going to lose snow altogether and well just have a warmer than usual half of the year then a colder than usual part of the year with no special effects besides the rain...
