Ok this is stupid but hairspray as a propellant for a cannon makes the cannon a combustion cannon right? If this dosent sound right sorry.

igniting gasses makes it a combustion cannon, it doesnt have to be hair spray, but dont use anything more powerful than propane, or MAPP at the absolute most, keep away from adding pure oxygen to your chamber, and dont use acetylene or any other high powered fuels

Ummm, yeah.

A test was done a while back which involved spraying hair spray and rightguard over a flame. The right guard burned a lot hotter and bright, meaning less by-products of combustion. The hairspray paled in comparison.

So yes, do use right guard instead of hairspray.

Could you explain what you mean by insolating the electrodes.
Thanx

I dont use a grill igniter i use a lantern flik igniter. It uses flint and then you flik it and boom. So i dont have to worry about the wire thing

I tried a new hs called aqua net and it worx great i got my mini cannon to shoot over 100yrds. but thnx for the idea of right guard

aqua net is the stereotypical spudgun fuel, and that shit will gum up your chamber pretty fast

Ok so obviously you all hate hairspray but i want to know if it has been proven that Right guard shoots better than hairspray and i aint talking about guming up im talking about actual shooting distances.

What other propellants can i try?

If your looking for a cheap propellant in a can i would suggest starting fluid. Burns super clean no residue and is more powerful then hair spray and aqua net. If your a starter i wouldnt quite suggest propane yet.

yes starting fluid is about the best fuel you can get, though its nearly impossible to meter correctly, barely touch the nozzle and you should have enough

though spudinator made an over/under ABS monster that took over a second of starting fluid to get the right mix
