i know that penu is better that a combustion but is a hybrid better than the penu? i have never really seen damage pics from them or anything saying they were better or worse.

well mate, i havent seen a hybrid in action, ppl say tha hybrids are pure power, we have to see the pros and cons of each cannon, i personally like pneumatic, specially the piston ones.

It’s partially a mater of opinion: some people prefer pneumatics because there are simple, basically to pieces of pipe and a valve, and powerful, good pneumatic cannons can launch pumpkins over a mile, but to get that kind of performance it take a lot of work, money, and skills. Other people like the combustions due to the utter simplicity, I’ve seen ‘em made out of a piece of pipe and duck tape although that’s not a recommended method, plus there loud and shoot a ball of fire, which is very appealing to some people including me, but even the most complex combustion is no mach for a good pneumatic cannon of the same size. The you have the hybrid, the final frontier, all powerful due to high pressure and volume of gasses, I’ve head tell of some that’ll break the sound barrier, but the draw back to such a powerful cannon is the fact the standard building materials will not cut it, instead of SHC40 or 80 PVC you’ll need iron pipe to withstand the pressures, plus there can become quite complex, metered fuel and air, fly back circuits, etc.
In my opinion the hybrid, due to it’s virtually unlimited power, is the best, fallowed closely by the pneumatic, and then the combustion.
Now I have a question:
Did I just waste thirty minutes typing this only to state the obvious?

Dang I type slow…

well each person like its different type of cannon and even tho each cannon is different, and u made it yourself it'll be fun cause its ur 'creation' i've made a pneumatic, and a combustion and they work well, i don't care if my combustion is low powered, i like to have fun shooting stuff to plywood or simply distance shooting(that's where i use my pneu) or just making big B00M with combustion to 'show-off' in front of ur friends.
anyways its ur creation.

spud gun, shotting potatos with combustion or pneumatic or hybrid either way is spudgunning

It's personal preference as to which you choose, but most people accept the lists below as true.

-In terms of power (power increases to right):
Combustion -> Pneumatic -> Hybrid

-In terms of ease of use (ease of use increases to right):
Hybrid -> Pneumatic -> Combustion.

-In terms of ease of producing rapid fire (Ease increases to right):
Hybrid (Almost no rapid fire possibility) -> Combustion -> Pneumatic

-In terms of maximum possible {and practical} size (Maximum increases to right)
Hybrid (excluding D_Hall's idea of course) -> Pneumatic -> Combustion

You must not have seen my automatic cannon

well i think reading the first reply to your thread describes why it wouldn't matter if he did, also it's a plan, no proof of it working.

Hybrids can be insanely powerful but need more plumbing and fiddling at loading than pneumatics. The other thing is no one in their right mind wants to hold one of said uber-high power hybrids when firing because of the extra dangers of combusting pressurised mixtures.

I believe remote firing takes a lot of the fun out of it.

Good point… sorry guess I’m just full of my self…

JA, are you saying that when and if you ever build that, it will have a better ROF than a BBMG (technically a pneumatic, powered by compressed air, a valve, and a barrel)?

I have no clue what the ROF will be; I was just saying it’s not impossible. But theoretically speaking, I don’t know.
And don’t call me “JA”.

Well your 'artwork' or 'design' is signed JA but in a fancy way :wink:

True, but I do that so if I see it on somebody else’s page I know he stole it, it’s kind of like a logo, or a trade mark. Judgment Arms is, or will be, the name of my armory. I’ll start out with pneumatics and airgunsmithing, and later on I’ll work with firearms, after I get the license I’ll make firearms. If you must call me “JA” I guess it’s fine, just don’t copy my work without my permission.
Okay now I’m going to get really off topic: I’m in the process of modifying my Crosman 1008 Co2 pistol into a carbine, would it be okay if I posted it on Spudfiles as it’s not a “spudgun” and in some places, not here, it may be illegal?
