Uh, I'm not exactly sur ewhat the point is of the bulb of 2-inch pvc in the middle. The rest of it looks sound but I'm not sure where you're going with that bulb there.

First you open the valve closest to the chamber until the 2 in pipe fills up with air then close the valve then load ammo in the barrel then open second valve

Ok, I donloaded the picture. Are you going for a multi shot cannon? if so, you will lose power on each shot, but yes it will work.

OK so basically the big tank is a compressor. Well you'll definitely want to install a pressure guage on that big tank. Keep a steady pressure in that and every shot will be about the same. The way it looks you can be charging the next shot while you're loading the cannon and everything. Looks pretty good. Like I said, pressure guage is an absolute must, you DO NOT want to exceed the max pressure rating of that pvc.

How could I make it automatic

I really don't think it could be made auto easily. In order to do that youd have to have multiple barrels that rotated to meet the secondary pressure chamber. Then you'd have to find a way to make sure that they sealed as they met up. You'd then have to automate the operation of the valves. Even then you'd only have as many rounds fired automatically as you had barrels to work with.

Elementary design, but would indeed work. perhaps several elbows to compact the unit into a lateral configuration... [/img]

Take a look at this gun, this is very similar to what you're trying to do, but it's already done.

Also don't use a bell reducer use a bushing. Reducers arn't pressure rated.
