one side of the moon is not always in darkness, it is also in light just as much, think of when there is a new moon, or a half moon.

When the moon orbits earth one side is kept facing us continually while the other side stays in complete darkness. New moon half moon etc.. all have to do with the one side that faces us being covered in darkness. No human had ever even seen it until the Soviet Luna 3 Probe launched in 1959 took some photographs.

Exactly, if one side is ALWAYS facing us and as you said

then that must mean that the side facing us is alternately in darkness and in light, and if the side facing us is dark, then the side facing away from us must be light.
Both sides must be equally in light and darkness. however is the moon revolved in such a way that only one side faced the sun, then your statement would be true

The moon orbits earth every 27 or so days, as its angle to the earth and the sun changes over this time we get the different phases because of our viewing angle in relation to that of the sun and the moons position.

If you don't believe me just do a bit of research, the answer will not be hard to find.

The same side of the moon always faces us and both the near side and far side recieve approximately the same amount of sunlight.

what about lunar eclipses when the earth blocks light to the moon? then the ENTIRE moon is in darkness.

Of course I agree with you. Because you're right. The same side of the moon is always facing towards the earth. That means that as it rotates about the Earth, the side that recieves light is always changing. Cannon Freak, I don't know how old you are, but if you're anywhere near high school you should know this stuff.
