Well steel is stronger than iron. But as for the comparison between stainless steel and regular I'm not sure. Stainless steel is part zinc if I remember correctly. I'm not sure.

whats stronger

iron is the main component in steel, making steel an alloy. typically, alloys are stronger. as far as being stronger in the terms you are thinking of, id say steel. Stainless has chromium, which is mainly for corrosion resistance, not for strength. so for standard durability... steel. And to top if off, stainless is a Hell of a lot more expensive!

no problem we all learn n a bit off topic but i have a near never ending supply of stainless lol it rocks although it takes longer to put together it works out that it takes less time to built coz you dnt have to wait for glue to dry

Yea my bad, there's no zinc in stainless. I was thinking galvanized. I'll keep those numbers in mind whenever I become not poor and make a better gun.

Your question is too vague, as there are many different types of <a href="http://www.diamondman.com/stainlessstee ... >Stainless Steel</a>

ok mate i know there are many types for it is the only steel i work with. i use and weld 304 mostly but i have done 316.

i actually don't see a vague question about stainless steel on this topic, am i missing something or are you hallucinating?

stainless steel is stronger than most(if not, all) carbon steels around.

You must be DRIVING the Vague Bandwagon, because the author of this topic only asked which is stronger? I brought up stainless out of the three, because typically, it's a pretty weak steel. - If I were to buy a quality knife, I wouldn't be lookin' at anything in stainless, that's for sure!

Thanks you, SpudBlaster15, for restoring in me, a little faith that not everyone out there is on intravenous drugs! Stainless, in my opinion, would not be an option in a selection of "strong" steels.

Hahaha!

In the metal industry, stainless steel alloys are known for their low tensile and yield strengths, aswell as their low hardness levels. Good Carbon and alloy steels far surpass stainless steel when it comes to all out durability, with the sacrifice of certain asthetic/resistance properties.
lol yer ya got me there mate, i should actually say what purpose ehy??
i was talking about pressure ratings.

my bad mate ill be more specific next time
