while brainstorming i thought why not try to build a combustion cannon that can shoot a paintball harder than a paintball gun. i never got around to actually building one but drew up some plans(will be shown but not now). so i wanted to see if anyone had already tried it. and if anyone thinks its possible. im counting on someone to be able to do it or help me with the plans. :D post any pics of any very very powerful guns that you have :D

I think that almost all combustion cannons shoot way harder than a paintball gun, except perhaps the minis.

Here's a nice link to Boogieman's page about paintball barrels (including pictures of what a combustion cannon can do with paintballs)

Why bother building a combustion gun that'll shoot harder than a paintball gun, when you're limited to a single shot and a lower rate of fire?

The only paintball gun I've ever bought for myself was a low-end piranha, and it came with three different springs for the bolt. A simple spring-swap increases the velocity.

A super-powerful combustion gun? - Seems kinda silly, when you can build a pneumatic one that'll be three times as powerful!

A combustion will only develop about 40psig, whereas a pnuematic-modded 3/4" sprinkler valve can dump compressed air at 120psi.

I made this a while back:

It's capable of launching a 40 cal paintball so hard, that it'll veer wildly to one side at any pressure over 60psig... AND... it's semi-automatic!

nice gun :D how did you get it to be semi-automatic? what were the costs of this gun?

With the adapter that you see between the valve and the barrel.

~ Can't recall the exact cost, sorry!

This site has what you need, http://www.blow-gun.com/storefront/merc ... ory_Code=2 idk if other sites beat it but that doesnt seem to pricey.

Modified sprinkler, about 20-25 bucks, barrel and hopper assy, about 5 bucks, chamber, another 5. Not very much, though you'll need an air compressor if you want it semi-auto.
Look at his post in the Pneumatic Cannon Showcase, it shows the feed system.
