Thats a question for the government to answer about the home made combustion launchers of anykind. But there is a combustion paintball marker and they are registrable, that could be the reasoning behind that regulation.

But the laws are just stupid,I was also told that a spitball launcher-A piece of pipe/tube and a spitball is an illegal weapon.

Just about anything is a weapon these days. Owning ninja swords isn't illegal but if you start chopping peoples heads off then the cops will get you (good on them). But if you build a spud gun and you don't shoot it at people then it is still illegal anyway. Where's our freedom? How are inventors supposed to invent stuff if it is illegal? I bet in 100 years, you wont even be allowed to flick rubber bands around.

yes well thats just stupid ey. well we can only hope if it gets changed or not.

but as you say that for combustion, what about compressed gas powered??
i mean *situation*: your drying something with a blowgun on your air compressor--(legal) something becomes lodged in the nozzle, builds up pressure and that could (by our laws) be called illegal. nail guns used on building sites and at home??? i mean they allow for certain things that are allot more lethal with out even a license, i mean if i could even have a license for this crap i would do it. but till whenever/ if they ever do change our laws, shit like the beer bottles will happen more regularly.

peace

You probably won't, the way it's going now.(@ Shud_b_rite)

But honestly, the government need to loosen up a little bit, have some fun and trust everyone a little bit more.

Ive been pulled over with my cannon on the back seat! The cops saw it chuckeled and said all in good fun hey! I said of corse and they sent me on my way. A mate of mine got sprung shooting his at house boats. the cops took it apart gave him back the componets and then told him not to build another and sent him home......... In the great state of NSW.
Since i have moved to WA and acording to the web site (WA Police) I can take my home made cannon into the cop shop and get it registered oh yeah i have a firearms licence so i can do that!!

Well as long as you DO have a firearms licence you can do anything that really makes loud noises and shoots like a gun because it IS a firearm and you have a LICENCE.

P.S. Sorry bout the caps I just need emphasis.

Good emphasis Twitch.

in a way what you said is right but since all neighbors can be "gay" at times they do dob ya in and when that happens even if its a firearm or not it still needs registration(sux Ass).

If you have the rite attitude and not a smart arse most cops where young to and think its ok as long as your not doing anything stupid with them. they reall dont care all that much. Its when it turns from harmless fun to wanted destruction of privet or public property they have a problem. The best way is to just have fun and stay under the radar with em. As i said i drive around with my cannons in the boot or back seat. I drive a Big V8 Holden so it stands out like dog balls and the cops just look and wave when they see me.
I even chat up our local female cops whilst there in uniform and ive gorn on a date with one!!! Every one has to have a hobby!!

Cops are nearly always cool wiht my guns.I have had cops see my guns before they didn't care just smiled. And when I went into the police station and asked about the laws on them they said we will verfiy things wiht the Fire Arms Regsistery and when they told me al the things one of the other police officers there said "really, they are illegal to own.The ones you spay cooking spray in and light".
