Yeah well I hate to put it this way, but what would a political party have to gain by legalising home made spud guns etc? maybe the handful of votes from us under 20 y.o. males!!!
Sure, I'd love them to be legal, but let's face it, older people who dislike this sort of stuff outnumber us, and are seen as more of a priority!

wtf we are the future though, we would want our children to be able to do this kind of stuff as well (i know i would as well as many others), and im sure a fair few "oldies" out there who im sure would want this to go through also.

if labour does(will) get power, and do legalese paint ball ect, im sure that they would have re-look the current gun laws and then to follow up and allow improvised markers ( home built ) to let those who cannot afford the "nice" tippman marker ect to have a fair go.

im tired (maybe that was all b/s i just wrote)

night all

I don't think they will EVERPass an anti gun law. (just my thought) There are way to many real gun owners all over the world that would not let that Happen. I know of one thing that I stand by Even if I live in the USA Loose Your Guns, Loose Your Liberty wether it be real guns or home made spud guns we are human we do what we want anyway wether it's wrong or not. They think that taking guns away will solve any thing it won't it will just make a bigger problem. One thing I know is I am totaly against The US led war on terror In my opinon I can't wait till Bush is out of office, The only terror I see is Bush terrorizing every one that don't listen to him. Sorry for babbling on about this but I will stand up for my rights as a gun owner wether real or home made spud gun's Thank god for freedom of speech!

Yeah Bush is pretty much the laughing stock of the entire world!
The problem with gun laws, or any laws in general, is that they have to be put in place because of a handful of people who are un-trustworthy and irresponsible. So the majority of people (who are perfectly sane/responsible/trustworthy) get punished as well!
When creating new laws/changing them, they are always going to tailor them so that will prevent the worst case scenario. They look at one incident of one social misfit, and can see how it is actually possible for everyone to do that also; of course the overwhelming majority won't, but they look at if it is actually possible to do it!
Sure, probably none of us would shoot at someone, or be irresponsible, but politicians can see how it would be very easy and possible to be destructive with spudguns etc. If the law prevents one person getting killed or hurt etc. then they're going to make the laws as harsh as they have to!
I know it sounds like I support the banning of spudguns, but I truly don't!
I'm also really annoyed at living in the country where it's just about impossible to legally do anything! Shouldn't we try and pride ourselves on our famous "she'll be right" attitude; the government needs to trust it's citizens a little bit more!
Anyway, that's my two cents (or probably more like $6.37) for tonight!

In one sene you can see where the law makers are coming from. Yes you cat hurt after all it is a home made weopon.
There are of corse idiots out there that will do stupid things with these types of weopons. How ever it comes down to the indavidual and anyone can "snap" and just go berko. I ish it could go back to the way things where. The whole reason the Jappanese didnt invade Australia out rite is becouse they knew that just about every Australian had acsess to a fire arm and or could make one! But thts not here nor there. We have had some pritty bad stuff happen and thats why the goverment had to tighten up. But hey leave us 3rd or 4th genration gun owners alone. I'm sick and tyred of paying through the nose for my right to have/own/use my guns.

Amen Bubba,It seems every time a liberal(Nancy Pelosi or the like)gains hold of power in the US the gun control issue comes up.I know for sure that a society with guns will never be invaded or subject to governement tyranny. So far as all the wacko nut jobs here think. Guns(under there own thought) are what kill people and murderers are just confused and not the problem.I don't buy that line.I happen to be what's called a redneck and I standby the "you'll have my gun when you pry it from cold dead hands" mentality.Where I live you can call the police but they won't be there for half an hour. When trouble happens you and your neighbors are the ones to deal with it,not the police.Cops just come by and ask whether it was in self defense or not  .

And about the Bush thing(not to start a political debate). The jury is not out on him yet.Sure I don't support everything he does(illegal migration),who can wholly support another human being. But under no circumstances will I disgrace the leader of the free world.I hated Clinton's thought process(and adultery),his inability to deal with terrorists got us into the War on Terror. But I do not publically denounce any leader elected by the people of a country.Majority rules in America, remember that when you criticize Bush.He did what Clinton could not.America was attacked first and more civilians died in one day than have soldiers in 5 yrs. of fighting. The war is not lost and I support the kicking of terrorist butt.

Sure I see your points about invasion, but that's not really likely is it?
Terrorism is the new threat of course, and guns aren't really going to help in that sense!
The only way we could have a bit of freedom from ridiculously harsh laws is if we had a Minority Report (the movie) type of setup where you know who's going to break a law before it even happens!
That way only the perpetrators get punised and prevented from being irresponsible, not the rest of us who have enough sense to know better!
But science fiction isn't a reality is it, so life's a bitch!

When the laws about really strick gun restrictions were brought in there were 6,000,000 guns there were supposed to be handed in and destroyed....Wunna guess the number of guns handed in??? Go on guess, ok here it is 640,000,HOLY CRAP thats alot of un accounted fully automatic and semi-automatic weapons out there. Not only that but armed robberies went up 44% in the following year after the laws were brought in.

Well there is one major Problem with kicking terrorist butt, not the actually fighting but the areas which they are fought.Fighting terrorists in a country other then your own is not smart as in the end you are not fighting a terrorist but eventually fighting the country all together.Occupying a country as an imposing and restricting force will never work and never has.Just have a look in the past,Vietnam for one and plenty other in the accient world.Things might always seem to go to plan but anything that can F#ck up will. It's reality.

Yeah the whole point terriost wont hit the main land of Australia is because they fear the reprisals that would come about If we actually went to full scale war. Boys we are the most feared armed forces in the world even the yanks cant "Play War" as good as us.
One instance one of our Inferior "Collins class deasil subs", "sunk" one of there brand new nuke JFK class aircraft carriers!! I know this coz I was on HMAS ANZAC when it happened.
Its not our size that so intimidating, Our millatery history if filled with battles where we have been out maned out gunned and out trained, but every time we manage to kick butt.
It's our spirit, guts determination and attitude. "Cum on cobba"

Thats the type of reputation any PM wants to keep. But over the years we've had our claws pulled out. Thats what I was getting at mate.

Even when both sides run outa bullets
the enemy knows there still one to fear.
Its a soldger with a bayanoett
and a sun burt left ear!!

Hey Bubba when you say "sunk" a JFK class ship (war gaming or real)And what Yanks American or Brit?It seems all of the modern nations claws have been pulled out.It used to be The US and Australia as the best fighters(WW1&11) but now look at us. Leaders caving to a ragtag bunch of insurgents.I wonder why we ( Americans and the West in General) feel so afraid of Terrorists.
I would worry if terrorists did hit Australia, you might find, like America, that your government has lost its balls. The military is ready and pumped to go but politicians will want to be "civilized"and negotiate w/ extremists.I hate to say it but the terrorists will get to your country as they did ours and the choice will be yours. You might find that good ole USA wasn't so wrong to fight.
Believe it or not,America is not ready to pull out of the War on Terror. The media and Congress is but the People want to win.Democrats won the Congress on the line of "end corruption"but took the winning as a mandate to pull out of Iraq.No one wants War but when it comes to you there are 2 choices.Cower and be defeated or fight like wildcats and win.America unfortunetly has not reached the decision point yet.
I know this much,in 4 yrs.(college) I'll be fighting for my country. And I pray we have the wear withall to win. I don't want to have to fight to regain my country's honor, only to defend freedom.

I pray for ya'lls country guys.Hopefully they will learn from our mistakes and succeses.

Enough Ranting for tonight Goat

Sorry goathunter "Yanks" are you guys the Americans and we call the English "Poms". It was a war game. The Admril of the the carrier bet the Captain of the sub that they would find em and sink em. But it was the other way around you guys get a bit too cocky some times i guess. LOL But It Proves that we are good at what we do find it, Sit back and watch it blow up!! Mate the US could not cope with another NAM thats why Bush is stickin it to em. He wants to win. Mate I want you guys to win.
And good on ya mate! I did my service and I wanna go back for more. I loved it.
Where still the best fighters mate it's just we dont deploy in force anymore we do tactical strikes behind lines and the media dosent have a clue. I got mates over there and I hope there ok and come home soon but we need to get this thing under control.
As I said thoe the Australian comunity is too closley linked. If you see somethin suss over here. We dog on it strait away.
9 blokes got locked up for planning to blow up the harbor bridge a few years ago. All coz the next door neibour busted the blokes stuff in the shed. I hope we dont get attact on our own soil. But the way our boarder security is set up. nothing can get through. We hope!
