I once had a pop bottle fire off it's coupling and hit me in the stomach.

That's why we started driving screws in there.

A lead musket ball my father insisted on firing nearly penetrated our fence with a busy street on the other side, if the pressboard wasn't there it would've gone through.

The musket ball was flattened on one side from the impact.

Just 2 problems

1. While taking my disposable camera apart i got a Mild shock from the circut board and spilled a hot coffee all over my croch.....

2. Dirt was lodged into the tread of my screw cap so i could only get 1 1/2 turns on it so i figured it must be enough, I held the cap upto my sholder, and the cap blew off and of course i was not wearing a shirt and melted all the hairs on the right side of my chest. I found the cap and no brusing.

I one time took my air cannon with a ball valve and i decided to shoot water. You might know where this is going. Well anyway, then i filled the barrel up with water, too much, and tried to shoot and got a nice kick back from it. Luckily it was more to the side so i didnt hit my stomach. It skimmed my stomach and i got a cut with then became a scar because i picked at it. And i also got a scars on my hand, semi deep cuts but nothing where you needed stichting. And i also got three scars on my hand because i picked at it. So i look at my hand, by my thumb and index finger, and i say "oh yea i remember that, it was cool" lol jk. It didnt hurt really but know i have the mark of a pneumatic air cannon on my skin.

The worst building accident was when I was trying to mod a sprinkler valve and held the top in the middle of my hand and drilled straight down. Needless to say when the 1/2" drill bit went all the way through the plastic, it went straight into my hand.
I don't think I've ever bled so much, and it took 2 months to fully heal and I had to use super glue to "stitch" it up since I couldn't let my parents find out i had injured myself or I'd risk being banned from the hobby.

SpudBlaster, where's you get an ABS union? I was planning on blowing up an ABS hybrid (actually, seeing how much what hybrid mix it could take before blowing up) but I would have to use a PVC union. The ignition chamber was going to be a 1 1/2" ABS end cap, 1 foot of 1 1/2" cell core ABS, 1 1/2" male adapter, then 1 1/2" PVC union.

I Have only been hurt by my cannon once other times I just smashed windows. I had just finished my spudgun and pumped it up to about 30psi. I took the barrel of and held my hand in front of the valve, to see how powerful compressed air is. I opened the ball valve and a bit of solder that was just lying in the chamber flew out. It hit me in the palm and got imbedded, I took it out and I was fine, Thank Good for lead free solder!!!

Another time I had just made some new ammo, (bolt with a sharpend tip).
So I thought I would put it to the test, I point blanked a biscuit tin. The bolt glided through the tin and carried on about 30 feet, It hit a sheet of steel (denting it badly) and nbounced of. Unluckily for me it bounced in the direction of our shed, it went straight through the window and I then heard a smashing sound. I ran into the shed saying fuck fuck fuck fuck, and it turned out I only smashed a flurescent light bulb (not the antiques dad stores in there). But if dad was sitting at the table of the shed at the time the light would have landed right on his head.

Not perfectly a cannon-related accident, but...

About an hour ago I was soldering some 1/2" copper pipe fittings with a propane torch when the fitting I was working with slipped out of the vice, and instinctually, without thinking, I went to catch it... I now have a big (2" x .5") burn on my middle finger on my right hand. The skin has gotten kind of leathery, and white (instead of red) and is starting to blister, I'm a bit worried about it. I'll probably see a doctor in the morning (it's 2 AM here). Hurts like a bitch, going to be hard to sleep tonight.

Stupid, eh?

Peace,
Pete Zaria.

Did you keep it in ice for as long as possible? If you lance the blister, make sure you keep it clean with antiseptic as it could infect easily.
