ok, for a school project i was first going to build a combustion cannon, then i decided that it would be easier to get the parts for a pneumatic. well, i just went to lowes and they had nothing. And the project is due in a week.

So, i think i will try mcmaster.

this topic is to discuss how many people use mcmaster as their supply instead of local stores.

Ok...

Well, Mcmaster has decent prices and great shipping times. When I place orders, I usually receive them the next day. If I could use Mcmaster all of the time, I would. I only really use other places like local hardware stores, lowes, or home depot if I need only 1 or 2 pieces, or if I am not 100% sure of what I need, so then I inspect them at the local stores instead.

i don't know about anyone else, but i find piston valves easier to understand than QEV's it is just a round thing sliding back and fourth  well actually, i just don't know how QEVs work haha, anyways, hope you get a good mark :D i wish i could build a spud gun for a school project.

You are looking at the wrong valves if they are costing 200-400$; mcmaster's qevs are about 10-20$.

Check page 941.

but i may be wrong

Use a threaded sch 80 plug if you need a plug.
And mcmaster has 4/4" qev's that work better than a 1" sprinkler valve.
for a 2" barrel it should work.
