Go with a pneumatic with a burst disk.............

my marble rifle with a burst disk not only has a MAJOR kick but it also is so loud ppl were coming from all over asking me why i was firing my parent's 12 guage when they werent around...... we dont own any kind of real gun........

Ok, I just got back from homedepot and i just realized i picked up the black pipes (ABS pipes). Will that work? Also, the homedepot employee said that i don't need ABS primer. ABS doesn't need primer? Is this true? So I only picked up a cement for it.

You can use abs for a combustion, not a pnuematic.
I would recomend you use primer; the guys at the hardware store are usually idiots. I asked them for pvc primer and they gave me normal cement. One time some one there actually asked me "what's sch 40?".

What if instead of a barrel, you attatched some sort of homemade air horn contraption to a large chamber... Maybe not a large boom, but you could bug the hell out of/ deafen your neighbors.

A burst disk is basically a chunck of stuff you seal the chamber with. when it reaches a certain pressure it goes KABLAMO and explodes like a baloon. its the most powerful but msot annoying type of valve known to people..........

Homedepot didn't have primer for ABS though. They do have one for the PVC pipes. Can you mix the two together? PVC primer to ABS cement?

purple pvc primer is usually for PVC, ABS, and CPVC read the print on the back of the can to make surd

ABS does not need primer! Unlike PVC, the plastic does not need to be "pre-softened" prior to bonding. They sell ABS cleaner, which may help the bond some, but it's not necessary.

I'm assuming you got DWV ABS, because hardware stores wont carry the pressure-rated stuff. Ergo, you will be forced to build a combustion with that pipe.

Thanks for conforming this. Can you use alcohol to clean the area that will need cementing?

Yes, you can, although I believe since it's usually only 70% it can leave a residue. I've used alcohol without any problems, soap and water is also just as good.
