Hey I would like to make a topic about fast-combusting powder (a.k.a. gunpowder ofcourse but I wouldn't use such 'hard/agressive-ish' word) but I recently read somewhere here that it's not allowed...is that true?
Cause if I have permission I would really like to start some topics about it :D

P.S. I really had no idea where to post this kind of thing so I posted it in the combustion section

you are not allowed to it is in the forum rules. but if you do you will probably only get a warning and get the posted forum deleted after a few hours.
i wouldn't suggest it but if you do well theres nothing i can do about it.

Ahh, and it's because it's way too powerful? I know just a bit of it is capable to kill a person with just a bit of other junk lying around... Too bad...me likey match-head powder :D

Either that or the topic will get locked.

Everything you need is all in the Rules. I think you'll find it under #3.

Plus, if your ever unsure about it, PM PCGUY.

The reason solid propellent discussion is against the rules is probably because homemade firearms are usually illegal or something.
That, and pcguy doesn't want to be held responsible if someone blows themself up from something they heard on this site (Can't say I blame him:)

Haha yeah I guess burning eye-brows isn't a real serious case compared to someone losing a hand or something... Okay I see now.

www.theopia.com -- Read the rules there FIRST before posting about this subject . Got any spud cannons, tell us about them.

It isn't really the use of black powder in a canon that concerns us, it is the use of black powder in a spud cannon. A BP cannon would be all metal with only a small amount of powder, and fairly safe, but a SPUDGUN isn't designed for solid propellents and using it in one is just asking for trouble.

I remember a topic on a news report about a guy who used black powder in a combustion PVC gun and it killed him...

Yea its like making a m80 balck powder pipe bomb -.- its close to identical cept theres more pressure. But if yoru gonna use black powder youre gonna blow your self up I highly recommend not doing this this is dangerious and this topic should be blocked. Im sorry to be a wet rag but dude i was messing with pyrotechnics and balck power and well lets say someone was looking out for me.. Its absolutely stupid to place it in a plastic pipe... with metal its kinda safe but i still recon you should not do this
Lol im not normally like this but i dont want you to die
Cheers Nato[/u]

Why we DON'T advocate the use of solid propellant...
