Bad Feature enabled in Chat

There is a feature enabled in chat that disables a user from being able to post a any word with a b and then an h after it.

I tried copying a link of a picture that I had to help ammosmoke out with his design and It wouldnt let me post the correct link to the image.

I realize that you could just PM the person with the link, however when I have to post multiple links and answer questions between them, it pretty much makes it imposible to help him with forum PM.

It is really just a bad feature and I really wish it would be disabled.

I don't really see why posting links in the chat would be a problem. Maybe something got switched with the new server because I before the switch Larda was posting links to pictures of his hybrid and stuff.

Yeah, was having that problem too, it is annoying when you are trying to talk about links. Here is a couple screenshots...

I would much rather take that chance then to not be able to post any external links.

I use the chat to help out other people here on spudfiles with designs. I also use it to show new technologies, new theories and other things found elsewhere.

The whole point of "Chat" is to be a more user friendly way to have a conversation. Not letting people post external links makes the chat less user friendly.

A person can say that you can always post the link in a PM, but sometimes you have to post a link, wait for questions about that link, then post another link, then wait for questions then another link etc... when you have 8 or so links that you need to show in that way, it gets extremely tiresome to do in PM. Another thing is, that sometimes when you are PM'ing, you will be in the middle of responding when the guy has another question that he forgot to mention... so that message gets delayed untill you finish your message. It gets really messy really fast.

Chat is supposed to make user communication more friendly not more difficult.

I would rather not have to add a bunch of spaces in between certain characters in links so the person can get it, then copy the link with spaces then guess on the spaces to remove, then after all the spaces are removed they can access the site. Then have to repeat that process for multiple links.

It really effects time. I couldnt help Ammosmoke earlier because we ran into this problem. We tried adding the spaces and then removing them etc, but by the time we figured it out he had to leave.

Nor should it be risky to use. Honestly.
