Most users ever online was 126 on 03/18/2008 9:26 AM
I always see this and wonder what happened that faithful day...

Anyone care to fill me in?

No idea. Probably a hit of readers because of some news story.
Or equally it might just be search engine spiders trying to archive the forums.

It counts guests, so we can never really know.

That was the same timeframe the "Scottcrete" phenomenon was occuring. I don't know if the incidences were related or not.

Not particularly...but.. he was a disabled Iraq war veteran that did nothing but build cannons and post pictures of his girlfriend and from Iraq, all day every day for a couple of months. Several political squabbles invariably ensued, some bans took place...life returned to normal.

It used to be 300 users, I think PCGUY reset it.

It counted 300 users when Clide's semi-auto paintball gun was featured on Digg's front page IIRC.

How bizarre. That link - at least when MrC posted the actual web address - had a space in it in the forum formatting, but not if I opened it in the quote box.

I also did a table on these forums a while back that did the same, adding in random spaces.

Novacastrian was banned as well for some incident surrounding that (IIRC), though I never knew the specifics of what he said. I assume his post was deleted.

Yeah I noticed that, hence me changing it, hoping no one would notice :)

I did notice this old post of mine in that thread though - only 18th poster?
Actually... that's worrying, as I'd not even been posting here for 6 months at that point. But I'm #5 now... even more worrying to be frank.
