Recently in this forum I have noticed that a few people have been making remarks that are in my opinion, not needed. Vulgar and sexually explicit to say the least. Sure while a clever innuendo ever once in awhile has its laughs and is all out of good fun but I am tired of going to look at a cannon and seeing time after time, "OMG I just jizzed in my pants! Your cann0n ROXS!!" or "MAN I CREAMED MYSELF WHEN I SAW THIS". Seriously do you not realize that this website is visited by people of all ages?

Imagine yourself in the position of a parent who is research cannons with their 12 year son on the internet and they come across this forum and are looking at the cannons and they see those remarks? I don't know about you guys but I wouldn't let my son go on this website if it were full of profane expressions like the ones mentioned.

There are far more friendly ways of telling someone they have superior craftsmanship.

I agree totally frank.

Youve pretty much summed it up.

When you go to hit submit just stop and think about the repercussions that frank has noted in the above.

I think that some of those comments are coming from a popular YouTube video where the song is about "jizzing my pants" when just about anything happens... Immature kids often use this in conversation to get laughs.

I tend to agree - and I'd add I don't agree with the many ways of getting around the word filters like inserting numbers or punctuation.

Indeed, I try to keep my posting reasonably PG rated, give or take a bit - minimal naughty language (by both definitions of naughty).
Actually, for my own amusement, I've just gone and done a tally on most of my use of language. Including even the completely mild stuff and minced oaths, and not including this post:

- 65 posts with the word "Hell"
- 65 with "Damn"
- 52 with "Crap"
- 47 with "Heck"
- 27 with "Bloody"
- 10 with "Bugger"
- 9 with "Arse"
- 8 with "Bollocks"
- 7 with "Cock"
- 6 with "Darn"
- 4 with "Bastard"
- 3 with "Bleeding"
- 3 with "Bitch" (The only one on this list covered by the censor)
- 2 with "Dang"
- 2 with "Ruddy"
- 1 with "Goddamn"
- 1 with "Feck"

And that includes words in quoted text. I should also note 17 posts using the word "elephant" - but that I have not yet used the word "poop".

Although just that list might out number the TOTAL number of posts some members might make, given that's interspersed amongst 3200+ posts, I think I've been reasonably well behaved, given that most of those words are about as offensive as something not very offensive.

I agree, there was one topic where it was just member after member 'creaming themselves'.

It's Nerf or Nothing.

Don't start crying when I play this as my hobby, Paintball, Airsoft and Nerf are equally good hobbies, except you can play Nerf in public. Good day! Hmph!

A good point. This either happens when:

a) The poster isn't smart enough to improve the topic, so they just post the first thing that comes to their mind.
b) The cannon is so good that the person has no clue what to say, so he just says something he thinks is funny..

It can get annoying, but I don't think we need mega modding to stop the occasional person saying "jizzed". Sure, we have younger people here and I'm one of them. But In my opinion, if you're old enough to be building an improvised firearm, taking photos of it then posting them on the internet you should be able to see a word or two without losing it.

That aside, it can be annoying..

I doubt anyone will be particularly offended by the use of the word bloody. I wasn't being entirely serious when I put it on my list.

Well I'm sorry for being uptight then. A tad tired with 4 all nighters in a row attempting to finish 2 assignment due on the same day.

Yeah I'll stop putting those words into my posts... I'll just think of some other grammar / vocab to describe my motivation and what not o.O

Would that be the high speed camera post?

This is turning into a bunch of parroting for the most part. If you are offended by what is being posted by whoever either ignor it or report it to a moderator or pcguy.

In this case it's quite important - it shows the people who are doing it that there is more than one guy moaning about it.

Seriously, if one person comes with a complaint, that's one thing. Ten people means a lot more. A hundred people... well, you get the point.
