If there is anything I can do to make it more appealing to you guys as far as navigation, graphics, or new products, please let me know. I'm up for about anything!
I'm not sure the site layout can even be improved much. It's a simple and fast loading design and I wouldn't change it. Very effective IMO.

I guess you could stand for a better banner, but it shouldn't be distracting. David's is a good example, though it could probably be improved.
I'd go with a rotating banner (like your ads), that shows one of several launchers every time a page is viewed.

As rp18 said, there are some pictures that are a bit low quality. I wouldn't use super high-res pics though, as it angers the dialup users. (hint: you do not want to anger the dialup users!)

I noticed a couple typos and stuff. Can't remember where they are.

Rotating banners are actually quite easy to do. I remember one time I had a rotating avatar on Theopia. :D

Sgort is planning to work on the site this weekend. Thanks for the banner, Dave, I'm gonna see what it looks like on the site real quick, then I'll get back to you.

I understand usability, but with all due respect dial up users should really stop being stuck in the past and get some decent internet (dial up is early-mid 90's technology.10-15 years old) Now a lot of older individuals still have dial up simply because they dont "feel the need" or the whole "why pay more to get to the same place" attitude. Even Net Zero says that in their comercial.. (it bugs me.)

Now I understand if you are out in the country and in a valley or bad satellite reception area and you have no other choice, that is why it is important to tailor to that audience but with today's technology demands, that is quickly loosing focus.

Now obviously you want your page to load faster so make it w3 compliant is always a good thing. Also making sure your graphics are of qood quality but good compression/formatting as well.

Now I realize the banner I made for him could be improved.. I made it in 5 minutes because I didnt have much time last night. (I was on chat with sgort and it literally was a 5 minute job.)

There are actually a lot of places without DSL/cable internet access. So basically, the only options are dial-up or satellite, and satellite is pretty expensive compared to DSL.

The only problem is, most people looking to make spud guns probably don't live in a big city. The more rural the area, the better it is for our hobby due to noise and population density.

I know a lot here have high speed but for that reason there will probably always be a good portion who don't. And not everyone can afford satellite internet, by the way. (edit, ninja'd by mark)

And yes net zero commercials are annoying.
"Give up your broadband for us and save money!" Sure.

And yeah, the price for the BBQ is pretty high. It's gotta be worth my time, especially because it costs me a big chunk to get it. I will drop it a lil though.
You ask for it, I want more chocolate flavor in my neoplotain ice cream! :P

Just kidding, unless you really have those kinda powers! :D

Glad to see you back around, it's been awhile.

Well after some more of looking through gort's site I'm really liking some of his products. When the time for an advanced comes around I'd probably be looking at the electronic spark circuit (stunguns are illegal in aus), camlocks and the clear chamber. It's cheaper to have them sent in by gort (chamber/camlocks) than buy them locally.. That's saying something.

That's exactly what I'm trying to do. I'm trying to cater towards 2 crowds: the ones who can't or don't feel confident enough to build their own launchers., and those who build their own and just don't have the tools, knowledge, or supplier for a specific part.

I get a week off work starting Friday. I plan to design, build, and publish to the site a whole bunch of new launchers and a few new parts hopefully. I look forward to hearing from you guys about them. Any suggestions for some new launchers?

I love dealing with gort- the 2 or 3 times I dealt with him I had amazing service. product came extremely quickly, and when I had a problem with a leaking sprinkler valve, I mailed it to him and he sent me a new one at no charge.

It's a great business

Gort, maybe you should add some kind of feedback/testimonials link on your main page. It seems like everyone that talks about your service has something good to say.

I'd like to say first off great work with the web site gort. I've never had the chance to meet you but I've always been a fan of your work since the Blue Flame II.

I browse Spud Files often but never really post. When I do its constructive and helpful I guess you could say.

Anyway since I saw this topic I decided to look at your website a little closer.
#1 - This may not be a problem for everyone but for me 5 of your product images aren't appearing. Ex: "Shredder"(Yes I did see the note about pictures and info coming soon) "Schrader Valve" "2.5 inch adapter" "Propane rings" and "One-Touch Propane Meter" .
#2 - I randomly found 2 typos. The first on the "Propane Torch Adapter" product page. Down in the product code it says "Troch adapter" . The second on the "Pneumatic Trigger assembly" product page. At the beginning of the second paragraph it says "thorugh"

An Idea for a new cannon would be a simple bbmg. Whether it's a cloud, or a vortex I'm sure customers would be satisfied.

That's all I have for now hope this helps. 8)

Thanks for the compliments and suggestions. Keep em coming. Both of them, because I'm gonna make that testimonials section happen.

I fixed those typos. Thanks. And the pictures are coming real soon. I just have to wait until my break from work. I added some of those products at work and had no access to my pictures. I do have most of them, just on my laptop.

Keep watching the site. Keep watching this topic. During the next week there will be a lot of changes and I don't wanna be in this alone. You guys rock!

Hey gort, do you think you could come up with a 3" or 2.5" port porting valve?

3" is in the works right now, actually. You'll be seeing it soon. :D
