Hello all, not sure if this fits into this forum but i found another website discussing on whether airgun accessories are legal and i found this link with all the laws of Singapore.

I need somebody's help to see if spudguns are legal or not from here http://statutes.agc.gov.sg/ probably under the ARMS AND EXPLOSIVES ACT. I don't really get what they are talking about as i'm not that smart.

Help would be greatly appreciated by the few singaporeans on this site!

Cheers,
Frozebyte.

Brief OT....

Froze....so after careful consideration, you have decided that the best possible avatar for you on Spudfiles is a cartoon of a steamy pile?.. ...?

OT off....carry on

Nope, no consideration involved at all, just randomly picked it up and put it as an avatar, is it wrong?

If you break the rules over there don't they just beat you down sick hard with a cane? Better ask your authorities if you can play with explosive projectile shooting devices. You might be risking a beating.

Glad you know those strict laws and punishments we have here! Not at my age i guess, and if it isn't going to be used in like hunting or something, probably a fine.

I dont shoot explosive projectiles? And i stick to pneumatics, combustion is most likely banned. If im just staying small at bicycle pump pressure, shouldn't be that strong and powerful. I dont really want to max out its power anyway, just a fun recreational thing. Or display.

I would say incredibly bad taste. The point being...is that how you want to be recognized on Spudfiles?....out of the billions and billions of artistic choices you could have made....you picked a steamy pile???

No, I don't buy it that you just picked a random graphic.

Interpretation
2. —(1) In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires —

"arms" means —

(a) firearms, air-guns, air-pistols, stun guns, electronic dart guns, automatic guns, automatic pistols, guns or any other kind of gun from which any shot, bullet or other missile can be discharged or noxious fumes or noxious substance can be emitted, and any component part of any such arms;
... which basically means you technically need a license. However, this kind of legislation exists in most places where spudding is enjoyed, so as long as you keep your activities to yourself and on private property and don't do anything stupid, you should be quite safe.

I've never heard of anyone prosecuted for the simple act of manufacturing a spudgun, it usually involves a felony commited with the said launcher.

Thanks a lot JSR! Oh so even in countries that enjoy spudding have this rule. So spudding is more or less safe if you do it on private property and keep things safe. Thanks!

Cheers.

Australia is a case in point, spudguns are specifically outlawed in their legislation yet there are many on this forum who live there and practice the hobby freely without interference from law enforcement. It all boils down to being sensible with your creations.

Then again with this whole shitty internet block planned by the second china's gov(i think some one on the forum said that one) this might change very quickly, ey jsr?

@byte: If you want to do some testing or any kind that requires lots of space, or in wich oyu want to keep legal then there are two ways of doing it ether you go outside the country, which isn't too hard, but taking a spud gun would be close to impossible.
Or you find your self a boat and get outside of the three mile zone(or what ever your country set up) and shoot out at sea, which is then perfectly legal as long as you are outside of you country's boreder, and not in any other country's land, and of coarse as long as you commit no fellonies that are punishable internationally(this isn't 100% but it will keep you out of major trouble, which you could get if you don't play safe, I'v had friends shoot at pedestrians with their airsofts from their roof, if you do that with a spud gun your are pretty much screwed for good, they had the cops on them pretty quickly, wasn't too bad, but in Singapour the results would differ greatly)

Hmm, nope, can't get out of the country down here. I guess just some shooting at low pressures on small grass patches would do. Singapore's coastal guards are really strict.

Build a containment vessel out of clear plastic (aluminum / steel plates / large tube with caps) and put your targets in there, making sure to seal it well. Done properly, you could fire anything up to a full-sized hybrid in the comfort of your own home, and, so long as you were careful with your buying patterns and internet usage, law enforcement would never be the wiser. I imagine that, if you were crafty enough, a decent such vessel could probably be built for under $500 in your current situation.

Be careful, and, above all else, tell no one. Make sure to use TOR or similar for all related internet usage. People have been EXECUTED for smuggling drugs into your country. Don't allow yourself to fall victim to its outrageous laws.

Drugs are one thing, amateur projectile launching devices are another, unless you happen to be mass producing full auto hybrids for a resident separatist group then I doubt you could genuinely get into any sort of trouble.

well, I think that apart from those living in the US most members live in countries where most of their guns are illegal... so do as JSR says, try to do it on your property, be responsible with it, try not to annoy any one with it (noise!!) and don't tell anyone about it...

building some sort of a silencer seems like a better and simpler idea :)
