Figured it was something low friction. :) Is there a chance of a video anyway?

Nice job. Truly ghetto.

Can I ask, if I use a very nice ignition circuit, will that make it less ghetto? I don't use piezos, I've never had one last more than 50 clicks.

If so, I'll have something good soon.

I was having the same issue with the source of ignition. I didn't find a Biohazard ignition for mine, so I didn't post photos of the accessory ignition. I'll include a photo with a lighter ignition for the confirmation photo. I'll wait for dark and try to do a time lapse photo of the chamber and barrel lit up. Keeping my camera focused in the dark is a pain in the rear. For indoors, I think I'll use wet cotton balls for ammo to keep the marshmallow theme.

The nice ignition circuit would in my opinion, would make it less ghetto. But if the rest of the gun is ghetto enough, it may make up for it.

I just won't show the ignition circuit then, imagine there's some dude rolling on carpet when I fire it.

Depends. If it's wired up to about 6 coin cells for power and connected to the cannon in something that looks like the flying spaghetti monster, I really don't think it matters how many SCR's and rectifiers or how well you layed out your perfboard during construction. I think it's more important that it's what you had lying around...

@clemsonguy: Surprisingly loud, nice.

Well I've finished, just need to take a few photos. I don't have access to a video camera but I have one damage picture.

It does look like a hot glued spaghetti monster, though it's mains powered. I have a few electrical qualifications, so I'm confident in the wiring.

"So, bring on the pop bottles, electrical tape, and Right Guard."

I didn't have any Right Guard, but I did use some Axe spray.
It was used to lubricate the barrel >.>

So this gun, a pneumatic, has a breech loading design. The ammo is loaded right in between the bottle and the barrel. All that's needed is to take some tape off, slide out the barrel, load the ammo in, and tape the barrel back to the bottle. Simple as that.

The way it operates is simpler than you think, just crush the bottle as fast as you can! After loading and firing a ball bearing, I lost sight of it immediately, but soon recovered it after about a minute. It landed maybe 6-7 feet away; just imagine the damage that could be done when firing button cell batteries!!

I think it's pretty believable that this thing fires, but I'll get a video up.

Here is the fast/easy breech loader. Guaranteed to reload faster than ever!!!

Guess that's the disadvantage of an impromptu contest, rules aren't the best thought out.

Don't you think entries should be limited to one cannon per person? Not saying you can't post two, indeed, it'll give you time to "improve" , just pick one for your entry by the end of the contest. What do you think?

Mostly to prevent headaches. If we could enter multiple cannons, people would complain, and I for one would play "contest sniper" and upload about 5 entries a couple of minutes before the end of the competition.
