Their has been a lot of arguing and fighting lately.Which I have a question about. Some of which I admit to being involved in.
Where are the moderators?
They are pretty much absent, and their absence has been shown through these arguements.
Mods needs to step in and fix this.

I agree, apart from Pimp and PCGUY I havn't seen or heard of any moderators since ive been back which is about two weeks. And in that time there have been 2 serious conflicts and many minor incidents with only few being moderated; Mostly by PCGUY. If the other mods don't have time to moderate spudfiles on a regular basis they should either spend more time here or give it up.

Or maybe, they are sitting back and letting us find a better way to solve problems. If they simply stop us and shut down the argument, we will never get a "proper" solution. Perhaps this way, if we continue to argue, we will eventually figure out that flaming each other doesn't do anything and will eventually find better ways to settle our differences.

On that note, everyone please realize that insulting someone or making sarcastic remarks towards someone is only going to start a problem. Furthermore, responding to the insult with another insult only fuels the problem.

FrankRede, I specifically recall contacting you personally via the PM service on previous, and pending moderation. Hell not just then, several other separate occasions. So possibly you could contribute yourself by bettering your posting procedures?

While I understand your intent may not be to insult any one persons inability to carry out there responsibility, I will just tell you why I don't qualify. I hold no obligations, nor refunded in any which way for my services. Yet I spend 2+ hours a day fixing the same damn old problems, the work load is relentless. Hell I barely the good old days when I could spend my time actually replying...

Besides BLB, PCGUY, and myself there is a no show on the rest of the moderation staff. I think it is a general consensus that I spend the most time moderating, although I know PC does a lot of work behind the scenes that you really never know how much work takes.

While you say there is a lack of moderation intervention, where do we start, and end? The average posting level here is that of my instant messaging, so where is the acceptable level? Again I understand you may not be pointing fingers at me in particular, but I got my hands tied. So some 13 year old doesn't have a pissy fit, and in return bite me in the ass via PCGUY, I have to personally compose a PM over each moderation action. Over the course of being a moderator I have had my PM service max out over 5 times, and had my PM capabilities doubled. I would wager that in total I have sent/ received 4000+ messages.

While in the past I have managed to keep problems on lock with rather strict moderation, those all just came back to again bite me in the ass. I am the moderator with the worst rep, I can't count how many times I have been to either f*ck off/myself, and am rarely shown respect.

You can obviously see multiple problems that have emerged. I personally would like to see this a strictly enforced forum, were dealing with weapons capable of killing people, Jesus Christ!

I am glad you stirred up this far to long left alone problem. I hope this problem can be discussed by PCGUY, the moderation staff, and the community of SpudFiles. Feel free to ask questions, give insight, etcetera. In truth I would hope to encourage it...

[Sorry for the rather loose net organization of ideas, and sentence structure. It was rather sparse in my lack of time, and length of post. Hopefully ideas, and thoughts will come under greater understanding in the future as more thoughts are exchanged, and more posts are made]

*Edit*
For the time being if you should see something you see fit for the moderation staffs attention please PM necessary information (thread location in the form of a link, issue(s) suggested for moderation, and anything else you think can further assist the moderator) to me over the PM service. When your respond in the thread itself you only increase workload, and reduce chances of action as I personally am troubled finding something you want done buried in hundreds of posts daily. Wiggling your issue into the 2-3 average PMs I get a day helps me better address issues.

the reason there have been alot of fights recently isnt because of no moderater action its because there is a lot of people coming from spudtech..now not saying all of them are jerks but there have been quite a few and i am not insulting anyone from spudtech because i was a member but i wasnt active i jsut liked to get ideas from there

I get the feeling that some members have fragile feelings and think differance of opion is getting flamed. Iv'e personaly have only come across one argument lately and i think it got deleted like a day after it started, granted i don't read all the post, but from what i've been seeing, it's all good, hats off to staff, that means you to Pimpmann! hehehe.

I think we need to try hard to addapt another additude on this forum. Not saying that people are not nice here. But the little things effect forum atmosphere. Look at the A5OG.net. Amazing forums, much because the rules are such that respect must be shown or its not your spot. Not everyone is as smart as everyone else. If someone kicks up a dead thread... So what. The wasted, or maybe mentioned something important, for 15 seconds of your life. The time spent flaming people only makes you more angry and wastes 1000 times more time. Constructive critism is great. But negetive is not. If you dont like it, in a negetive way, DONT SHARE IT. No one really gives a rats butt that you dont like the fact that some chubby 8 year 2000 miles away didnt use clear primer on his gun. If you really have something you wanna say to someone that might be taken as negetive, Pm the person.

The bottom line is that people go to forums to learn, communicate ideas, or show off. No one wants to be publicly humiliated.

There are people on this forum who i think where last in line when they handed out brains. But they come here to learn. They dont go around trashing people. I appreciate that.

If we all work together we can make the good atmosphere move up to the great level.

O yea EDIT: Almost forgot. Big :thumbleft: to the moderators!! They keep this place inline. I have personally had the oppertunity to moderate on a few forums in my past. You really need to experiance it to ever appreciate it. Keep that in mind. There working for FREE for your FREE enjoyment.

Just to keep you guys posted, we are discussing issues surrounding that of this thread. This is occurring in a hidden moderator forum, so don't go looking for it. As you see there is a new moderator, McCrowley. There is also a good chance for future action to occur.

My thoughts expressed basically establishing that moderating wasn't all fun and games was not a move of sympathy, rather to state their were other reasons why there has been a lack in moderation.

Scope, I would agree with you for the most part. Metaphorically "flaming" someone is not always to address that particular person, rather a pin-up for that action being discouraged. Lots of kids think they know what there talking about, but don't. Those people need to be put in there place, not just are they wasting browsing users time, they are pumping them with incorrect information. You then can speculate how that mis-information can turn for the worse.

Something that pisses me off, and is just a damn waste of time. When people respond, and admit they do not know the answer. This all from a post-whorish nature that has been created, and maintained. I'll stop, that was just a rant.

Is this the chubby 8 year old you are talking about? http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/files/c ... ng_163.jpg
I hope the best for him, considering his gun is about as "safe" as this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQo81nqx-W8&NR=1
