Hunting Suggestion

I am a shooter like a few on this site and like others I dont like feral pests in our country. What I suggest is a hunting section devoted to ridding our countries of feral species. Now I know people dont like this and some are gonna flame me but I think some hunting shots of a clean killed feral pest, that died without suffering would be something to discuss.

I ask you Pc Guy to place a hunting section but Im going to put in a poll to see what people want.

@Twitch,
I see where you're coming from; I've done some hunting myself.
But this is a potato cannon forum (also including some stuff like airsoft, but pretty much, on-topic) and I don't think hunting fits in well with our theme of safety, not shooting at living things, etc....

But it'd be fine on Theopia if there's demand for it.

Just my opinion.

Peace,
Pete Zaria.

I don't have a problem if its on theopia as long as there is a disclaimer when you click on the link in the forum section so people know what it is about and the rules etc.

You both raise a good point but I do hunt small game (rabbits birds etc)with my proper pneumatics and I can safely guarentee that no suffering is involved. Some people like Chaos (hope you dont mind man) have shot feral species and video recorded it (he shot some carp). I am thinking bout joining theopia (I know Im just lazy right now) but I saw this place as a more agreeable site for hunting as most people on this site either own or have access to a gun and have been shooting at some point.

Agree, a hunting section is not a good idea here, maybe on Theopia but not here.

This is a spudding forum key word spudding.

Want to talk about hunting then join a hunting forum.

I just placed this here coz I know the rules about hunting and spud guns together. I just happen to have a site about spud guns that has a hunting section is all and I thought that if I cant really compare to this site I might as well try to share some ideas.

Spudguns certainly don't have the accuracy to make clean humane kills, if you want to hunt small game with a pneumatic buy a proper air rifle with at least 10 ft/lbs of muzzle energy that can consistently hit a 1" circle at your chosen hunting distance, which shouldn't exceed 40 metres.

At least that's the responsible option.

So, I guess when I get my paintball LMG (cartridge fed) finished I shouldn’t post it because this is a “spudding” forum, not a paintball forum. Oh and I probably shouldn’t post the mark II version which would be used for hunting people with paintballs in paintball games.

now, as for not having enough power for hunting, I’ve put steel bolts through an old drier drum with my big old sprinkler gun easy. And think about B the B’s sawn-off, need I say more.

As for accuracy, need I remind you of how way back when, before the rifled barrel was invented, people still took small game? You could get close in and use a single projectile, there’s also shotgun style, and has anybody ever tried shooting an arrow?

And as for legality, um… ain’t spud guns illegal in Australia? But that dosen’t stop people from makin’em.

Now, I don’t wish to start a fight, I’m just posting facts.

I’ve heard of people taking out squirrels with a Daisy Red Rider, a smoothbore, .177cal, BB gun with a manufacture suggested muzzle velocity of 350 feet per second. And it wasn’t always a head shot!

But I also agree with the others, perhaps this ain’t the place for hunting discussion, Theopia may be a better place.
