Okay, i really want to make a paintball gun, and I've seen many dont like the way they are so i want it all to have my custom feel to it!
I don't really know what gas to use, or whats better a sniper design or handheld.
And also what should i make this gun out of, PVC pipe or something more durable? Please help I'd rather not buy some cheap gun that'll break and I can't fix myself, or a gun that does't feel right to me.

Oh if i make a sniper or assult rifle design i want to try and put some sort of grenade launcher on it that could shoot either legal smoke nades or paint nades.

:For the poll, if you have another design that would be cool that would help:

UAPP means Ultra Anti-Personal Prototype

And I or II is the differant stages my gun idea has been through.

My UAP I prototype blueprints. I'm not finished with them I need to find out where to put my custom hopper at and how to put a trigger on.

Added color and stock, put trigger in area but still have no idea on how to hook it up. Set hopper in a good looking area.

Ok only problem is how to get stock on lol. This may be my finale design.

Well, i'm not sure if a sniper design is better than a handgun one like i said before but if its sniper i will have single shot, and handgun semi auto.
sorry if i am not giving many details but im new to this place, and dont have alot of expirience in paintballing, but i like building things alot.

Who knows, this sudden surge of new members may turn into a group that actually does more reading than posting, and we'll start seeing quite a few new cannons in the showcase...

I've been reading alot of these guns and how to make them, and watching tutorials. Right now i kinda get the idea on what type of gun i want. But thanx for the help... I'm thinking of blueprints soon :D

But i still want to know if a sniper design would be better than an assult rifle or handgun design. I want some opinions please.

Since i kinda want a semi automatic how would i put a hopper on it? And is copper piping better than PVC? Cause pvc looks like i'd just shatter in my face, that would be painful.

I would say sniper easy to make, breech loading, scope and all the best I never made one thou.
You can tell how awesome a cannon is by the pressure used.

Thanx for your input, if i make a sniper i already have a scope from an old telescope i had it zooms in and out and also has crosshairs! I was going to put it into my assult rifle idea too.

For any paintball gun you’re going to want either propane (green gas) or Co2.
So, for the chamber at least, you’ll want copper as it’ll take more pressure then threaded black pipe, and more cold than PVC.

For a barrel, either ¾” CPVC or SCH80, both should be easy to get and both should fit the paintball nice.

As for a valve, if your really handy you can make a hammer valve, if your not then a small piston valve should work.
You could also use a valve from a paintball gun, but that gets complicated fast trying to fit it to ones design.

Good luck to ya’!

Bluerussetboy, I don’t see how that would help him much…
Call me "Judge", it's easier to type.

yea i agree with judge, use propane or CO2. IMHO green gas can get expensive, but each to his own. I'd almost recommend going with a small piston valve similar to chaos' S400 gun. granted, all his pics have been removed, but its a really tiny barrel sealer for a marble barrel. I think that the piston would be the best bet, but ultimately its up to you.

I stand corrected, that topic has no useful information for you or anyone. Judgment_Arms is the only person that can get anything from that topic and he is not willing to share. While it did touch on rifling and what was required to propel a paintball to 300fps, you can't use that information, it won't help you. That topic should probably be deleted so no one makes the mistake of thinking it could help.

if you are going to use this around home for shooting targets i would sugest the sniper. however if you intend to use this at a paintball field, it most likely will not be allowed, as you are not allowed to shoot other players with home launchers because of safety concerns.
even at 30 and 40 psi a home made paintball gun is capable of extremely high velocity and should never be used against other players

Okay thanx for the posts... I have come up with a few blueprints, if only i had a scanner, and I made a hopper already, took about an hour but it makes me proud that it is more durable than i thought lol, and i know i want to go with CO2.
As for a valve, if your really handy you can make a hammer valve
I am very handy, or else thats what people tell me, so i will read up on this and see how to make it; it sounds interesting. But earlier i was only handy with electronics like computers, mp3's, and psps, rc cars, and i know a good bit about cars; not sure if these things will help.

Hmm i was accually thinking a whole copper gun but that would be way to heavy i'd think so i'll go with judgement_arms idea with just copper for the chamber (i don't want to pick plastic shards out of my arms and face).

Is there anyway of making the gun look like a real model gun so i can use it in tournaments, after im done with the prototype of coarse, because i don't plan on buying any guns after i finish this.

Annnnd.... I think i will go with the assult rifle because i can add a scope still and a stock, and i thought of ways to have 2 differant barrels, one long for precise shots and one short with a silencer on it that is attatched so it counts as a barrel and not a silencer (hopfully being legal when i'm done)

Thanx for the help guys. I'll try and post pictures while i am building it. hopefully i can start over this weekend, but i'll see if i can post a pic of my blueprints on notebook paper lol or on paint... and my crappy hopper.
