I know this is a bit of a ridiculous question and not exactly the best choice for my first ever post but I just finished building a pneumatic sniper rifle and was wondering what paint job i should go with.

I think normal cammo is too cliche so i was thinking either Desert Cammo, Urban cammo or fully black.

Be nice to know what you guys think would be a good colour/design to paint it.

Thanks,

yeah i do like that but soo many people do it so i wanna steer away from that kind of thing... its strictly no green because all the snipers you see are green or cammo green

How about snow digi camo?

(That's not actually snow camo, but you get the picture... should be gray and white.)

Same as urban but uses blues instead of greys:

Depending on the application, it may work out well or not...

Matte black is more a psychological 'tool' than an extraordinarily effective camouflage. I'm pretty sure if you paint your cannon matte black, it will scare the pants off people who see it, but it won't really blend in very well in a lot of environments.

EDIT: Jack, why is the man in your picture mixing 2-stroke gasoline?

Why not ask the lovely people at the New Forest Army and Navy Stores?

Simple, traditional and gives that "tactical" look, but as mark says it conveys a certain amount of mystique in an "assault weapon" sort of way, which might not be the way you want your launcher portrayed to potential observers.

Yeah good point although i won't have many 'potential observers' only very close friends as they're not exactly legal in Australia.

I don't believe there are any specific laws saying that 'pneumatic spud sniper rifles are illegal' but why draw any unnecessary attention.

They are more than definitely illegal accordinto the firearms act.

Just keep it basically to yourself..

SF guys usually do whatever they want, go to whatever environment is near where you live, grab vegetation, leaves, grass, even nets add a nice effect. Use them as part of patterns, spray one layer of paint on (base), throw on some of your stuff, spray again in a different color, change up the items, spray again. Just play around and you can make it look awesome. Even go for the scope, (it makes me cringe though when some like KSK paint their verrrry expensive EoTechs)

Or you could build a ghillie for it, or just wrap it with some burlap

I'm interested in building a "ghillie suit" also by maybe coating the suit in a glue, then covering it with natural local vegetation.
Problem is IDK what type glue will be scent free since I want it to double for hunting(?)

A main camo concept is to simply break up the silloutte mostly, so the entire object shape unrecognizable.

I noticed some deer (several times lately) near roads...very hard to spot sometimes even up close.
Perhaps because their coat changes and matches the vegetation they eat at whatever time of year...saw one once that appeared bluish purple in the morning and it matched the sky behind it...(tasted good though)...
I was thinking maybe a deer fur suit, BUT remembered a story of a guy wearing one who got shot by another hunter...

My favorite camo concept is an experimental one where fiber optics are woven all into the fabric.
It wraps around from front to back so in theory, what is behind the suit appears in front (through the fiber optic thread)...practically invisible. 8)

A friend loaned me a "real-tree" camoed 12ga. one time, I was worried I'd lose it it was so camo next to a tree for example.

On topic: I prefer matte-black (more stealthy assasin style).
For a toy look maybe matte black with orange tiger stripes...Or even covered in crappy looking tape (blue painter tape(?)
For show I prefer nice wood grain, finger grooves, polished shiny luster (nickel, chrome or silver plated). Even cowboy engraved maybe. 8)

EDIT: Found some camo-wraps and ghillie suits HERE!!!
