That's funny... I've been back in the hobby since January, that's all I've used is the 'yellow' Oatey. I didnt know that about the building codes, learn something everyday. :) It's in abundance here at our local Lowe's. I was wondering how many use the green heavy duty glue Oatey makes, and what's t...

Its not electronics, smallparts.com, but its a good place to put together a 'wish list' for your next cannon.

...you know I would try a Piston, but it seems like there is a lot of place for error when making one of those, I looked at MrCrowley's tutorial and I didn't fully understand the "deodorant Can" piston". So I figured I'd just use a ball valve, but after a bit of researching valves on spudwiki, turn...

Let me tell you this, I would never come in here and rag on a someone trying to learn this hobby. I get tired of people here who build one cannon, post 200 times, and think they know everything... :D Its funny as hell. I'll see someone make a post hammerin' some dude in here, look at his post count ...

sthorne... I'm not hammering on him, :o I'm trying to point him in a right direction and tell him to plan it out before he spends $$ on parts he may not need. I'm talking from experience, I've done that before when I was just starting. I'll be the first to help him out, which I thought that's what I...

Try looking around a bit before diving off into making a pneumatic cannon. Know what you're getting into before spending $$ into a cannon you may not want.

To go along with this 'graphics' post, here's a site that was posted in another post, http://www.warninglabelgenerator.com. It's pretty neat if you want to create some type of 'warning' sticker to put on your cannon. It will generate any type of warning sticker with your own personal touch.

Somewhere in this world, they have to make fittings that match up to the bottle pressures. Possibly some paintball company? Brass Eagle? (Cough, cough... )

Fireman565 it is better to bolt the sealing face rather than glue it. I am getting neoprene from mcmaster carr, 9013K823 thats the neoprene i am getting, it should work well. I agree. I had run into a problem with my latest cannon where anything I did, my neoprene seals were being sucked right off ...

Let me know your thoughts. Se...

I was wondering if it could have the same amount of pressure power as a 3/4 inch pipe Ummm... Funny.. :D I understood it as he was asking if a larger diameter copper pipe ...

@MaxuS I would go with a Piston Valve, but for a 4" tee and 3" porting I could have bought a 3" Sprinkler Valve. When you can find a 3" valve for less than the price of a 4" tee and 3" porting, I'll take 20 of them... :D The last 3" sprinkler valve I priced was well over $270.. Not my idea ...

Yeah, McMaster, I know... but if he can find a local plumbers supply in his area, and there should be one around north of Atlanta, it would be a whole lot cheaper spending $3, ... than $3 plus shipping... :D

Mattmp.... Down here in the southeast, you'll probably have to find a local plumber's supply to find pressure rated bushings over 2". Lowe's carries pressure fittings up to 2", but that's it. I had to buy a 4" to 2" bushing, then buy a 2" to 1" bushing. You could do the same, just buy a 2" to 1-1/2"...
