Re: Describe the ultimate potato cannon

Well I suppose that's kind of an open-ended question, but here goes. I'll break it down to a few categories Ease of use/less performance: propane injected combustion with muzzle or breach barrel knife. Consistent performance/compressor hassle: regulated pressure pneumatic diaphragm valve with QEV ex...

Re: Low cost High pressure compressor

Yah some kind of closed system would be great, but I don't want to add any more bulk or weight for transportability. If I were to make some kind of charge station I would probably do that though. The thing already weighs 50 pounds or so lol.

Re: Low cost High pressure compressor

Yah compressors are notorious for collecting water in the tanks, there should be a small valve at the lowest part of the tank to dump it out. Living by the ocean won't help you either...

Re: Low cost High pressure compressor

Ohh sorry I forgot to mention there are a lot of different vendors that carry it, all with varying prices. I had to sift through a number of different pages on ebay to find mine for $320 shipped. I bought mine from a seller named "premiumautopart" listed at $305.99, ended up being right around $320 ...

Low cost High pressure compressor

So I've recently got into PCP air rifles which require up to 4500 PSI charge pressure, and initially thought I would have to go to paintball or scubs shops to top up my carbon scuba tank. Untill I found this... http://www.ebay.com/itm/222702809678 These compressors usually run in the 2-3k$ range, bu...

Re: NOVE COMPACT .357

Seems to be so, they are getting pretty affordable now, more than they used to be anyways. The 4500 psi compressor I got to charge the fill scuba tank was only 320$, and I think all of us know how useful that could be for some fun projects. If anyone is interested in more info about the compressor d...

Re: NOVE COMPACT .357

Nice little launcher, I like it. I picked up a Benjamin Bulldog not too long ago, its a .357" PCP air rifle, and I'll bet the pellets/bullets would work great in your gun, you can get all different sorts of rounds for it (round nose pellet, round ball, hollow points, etc.). Check Amazon for .357 pel...

Re: My bovine safe pneumatic

If you ever need some tips on how to run your lathe I could probably help out a bit, I've run a few in my days (been a machinist for 12 years). And like jackssmirkingrevenge says, a smaller chamber and higher pressure will go a long ways, literally lol. Soldered copper tubing can hold a couple hundr...

Re: My bovine safe pneumatic

Glad to see a new spudder join the game, and good job on your first of many launchers. The lathe is going to remove a number of headaches and open up a lot of opportunities, you've got a leg up on many spudders with that.

Build the damn thing already Dave, don't leave us hanging! Vera burned a hole in all of our hearts until she lost her stage fright, then filled that depth with glorious, high powered love. Don't burn another hole, doooon't! :D

No I haven't, my phone is my computer/internet source and it won't support HGDT. Perhaps if I got specs and a pic for reference someone here could run the numbers? I'm really curious about this, I've been spudding for 10 years and I've never seen this kind of power. It really does kick like a rifle,...

Strange but good coaxial power results...

So I've been playing with combustions lately quite a bit. My old favorite 650 CI over/under was still my favorite until I recently recovered my bolt action 5' golf ball barrel, from the spudtech days, at a friends house where it had sat hidden for years, and created a new over/under. When I found it...

Yah, you'll see once I get pictures up in more detail but I use a small jewelry torch (harbor freight but it rocks, their more costly items usually do) with a number 3 tip on it, fits into the threaded chamber port nicely. Just set a good neutral flame and snuff it on a piece of wet wood, then give ...
