I'm afraid to mention because I don't want to start conflict. Its not my goal, so its irrelevant. What is relevant is that the information has been presented to me and beyond that, it makes sense, at least to me. 1.5:1 just sounds right to me right off the bat, but 0.8:1 has intrigued me enough to w...

Well this is a combustion cannon. Sorry if I lost you there, but I am more than willing to check out info I have missed about C:B ratio. I want the best power of course, just with a silenced barrel. I guess I am confused because information differs bewteen two diffrent spud gun sites. I assume both ...

If you really want to exchange your barrel why not try to get the true optimum(sp?) ratio of 0.8:1, But i guess 1 is close eanoth, sounds good, oh and are you sure you do not want a loud band, dumb question but many people really like that! Yeah I love the loud bang actually. But living in the damn...

New barrel advice

I am making a silenced barrel. My chamber is 4" SCH40 x 17" long. I currently have a 1.5:1 C:B: ratio with a 43" long, 2" SCH40 barrel, and its LOUD. I was thinking about lengthening the barrel to 60", making it closer to 1:1 and having the last 17" of barrel the silenced part, using 4" SCH40 as the...

PVC isn't tempered glass... Last half a dozen pvc failures I've seen posted here consisted of fairly sizeable bits. I wouldn't run out a generalisation on hearing of one incident. But it would be nice to see a deliberate cellular core ABS failure. Might require a hybrid mix or perhaps a pneumatic o...

They assumed it didn't, this implies noone has ever had an ABS failure? Or they are that rare lol. Dammit, I want ABS failure stories! Someone back on Spudtech had an ABS failure. It didn't just "crack" though, a big chunk of pipe blew off. Crazy, sounds intense. If I have a failure with my cellcor...

I'm a mechanical designer with the latest Solidworks, and started designing my cannon using it, and said screw it. All I need is Spudtool! For something so simple its a waste of time to reverse engineer friggin fittings. if you want, go to http://www.3dcontentcentral.com. Many of this stuff has been...

It's good to see that you came here shrouded in n00bness, asked all the right questions and managed to turn all the advice you were given into an extremely well made first project :) now how about some videos? Thank you! I would love to post some videos and damage pics and I will certainly do exact...

Wicked thought for ammo

OK, i'm probly not the first to think about this, but immagine using like a well sealed wooden or plastic peg as a wadding, and dropping an arrow (bow and arrow type) ontop of it. That would totally sail. I wonder if it would be faster than using an actual bow. Like, if the velocity of the gasses ex...
