Is a piston valve an option? That's what I'd go with, but you have to make it yourself.

You can help ease my boredom by posting a sketch of your latest hybrid design.

Re: Spare parts throw down.

If you go with oxygen then you don't need to go hybrid. Going with a hybrid design using pure oxygen and propane with a large cannon like yours may well be a dangerous move. If the oxygen/propane fuel mixture is pressurized, it will be far greater than 5x pressures with a very rapid and violent comb...

Yes I've noticed it taking a really long time. Hmm..

Re: It's been 11 years...

Welcome back! I also came back in 2019 I think it was, after many years. I built a cannon in 2009 I think it was, then came back right around 10 years later and built a real banger piston hybrid. I'm not real familiar with pneumatics in general regarding innovations, but people are still posting new...

Re: Spare parts throw down.

I like it! It's big and metal. For low mix hybrid use, you can use a metal camlock coupling, but that requires cutting the barrel off and welding camlock fittings on to the barrel and chamber. I haver a similar sized cannon and even at 2X hybrid use it's a huge increase in performance.

Whoa, thats pretty amazing work. Very nice. I love the compactness of the whole thing. It's very clean.

Re: Mini Hybrid II

Hmmmn just when I thought I had no interest in hybrids For sheer power there really is no comparison with pneumatics, even with thousands of psi of air and fast valves you will struggle to get the same results. I decided that the low-mix hybrid is the most efficient and easiest way to get a good, p...

Re: Hybrid disk burst pressure effect on performance

Very interesting results. I feel like people had to know about this before, considering how old this hobby is. But, here we are, seemingly on the cusp of yet another evolution of the hobby: the pursuit of turbulence-inducing chamber designs. I have a large 2x hybrid (the one in my thumbnail pic) and...

Re: Valve reliability

Many interesting and good things have been said. I think it's all been covered. I'd just like to suggest maybe trying X-shaped o-rings. I tried them and love them. They are less picky about being squeezed too much and having too much friction while still sealing perfectly. They are made for sliding ...

Re: Hammer valve-->Piston

I like the machine work you did. I love projects like this. I did the grease gun thing like mrfoo said, and it worked for me. I filled the cannon with water, then pumped grease in. I've read that you can modify the grease gun to pump water in, but all that did was leak for me. There's a way to do it...
