Re: Need some advise

Yea, it looks like a compression tee but without the fittings and the brass rings on it. For comparison, a fully equipped compression tee.... http://www.wickes.co.uk/content/ebiz/wickes/invt/420205/Compression-Equal-Tee_large.jpg You have to keep in mind that you need a good surface inside the tee t...

Re: Need some advise

1/2" is small to begin with so I would take a "compression tee" if you mean a tee with a smooth inside and outer threads. edit: Sorry, I looked up compression tee and I don't think it will fit your needs. Find a tee with outer threads and a smooth surface inside or a tee with inner threads + 1/2" ma...

Re: YouTube comments (FAIL)

Some people don't understand piston valves hahaha. MRR, you were actually the person who taught me how one works  you proceeded to refer me here because you didn't want to answer any more questions :D that was like 3 years ago... I still give tips and tricks to people that ask politely, but in...

This comment actually made me laugh
Apparently he doesn't understand the concept of piston valves.

Nice!!!

All you have to do now is to open a thread in the pneumatic cannon showcase section, this definitely deserves its own place. :)

What do you fire with that thing ?

Everything that fits the barrel (22mm ID) or smaller with a styrofoam sabot.
If i use pvs BB”s (airsoft) I have to load 1 by 1 manualy after each shot.

You should build a detent to prevent the bb's from falling out.

That looks really great, I like it a lot. Looks like you had a similar idea for the trigger, yours looks much more sturdier than mine though.

Yea, I'm with JSR on this one. The 3-way was more a proof of concept / challenge and it was a pain to make the rod (did it on a drill press). A commercially available 3-way valve would be cheaper and in a much smaller form factor.

This is what I wanted to tell you all along after you have posted on my youtube video. The numbers don't really add up (did it in GGDT too).

You should follow Zeus advice and see if it reproducable at greater distance from the chrony.

This ought to be a follow up but the user I was talking about is a fellow spudfiles user.

Look at his post here:

you'll need to loop the pilot into the middlesection for it to pop open .. Or..take out the bottom center O-ring and THEN plug the side. It doesn't look like it is necessary to pressurize the middle section. If you use a 3-way valve on the pilot and loop it to the chamber, it would work like a cham...

According to google, PSV stands for Pressure Safty Valve. The picture search revealed a similar design to this one.

It looks like (could be wrong though) that you can screw in a little pressure release valve which triggers the PSV.

This concept reminds me a lot of the Zoraki HP-01 compression pistol.

So you lubricated the hot glue piston with WD40? I had bad experiences with it, over time the piston became sticky and soft, to a point that I had to remove it with a dowel and a hammer.

ok im thinking of a cup shaped piston /burst disk machined out of delrin or something or made by deep drawing with vacuum out of some sort thermoplastic Ok, I get it now, the OP was a little misleading though (I had a piston hybrid in mind). ... Wouldn't machined burst disks be too expensive if you...
