Have you tried PVC with this design. Did it work. I built a very similar design out of PVC. It worked when I got the fuel load right -- which was too infrequent to be fun. The best part was when I flooded the chamber and left it to dry. A couple hours later a friend picked it up, hit the button on ...

Check a hardware store, I believe I have seen schrader valves before at one near where I live. It had a very nice screw connection on the end, will definitely be better than one salvaged from a bike tube. I've found that auto parts stores are the best source for the threaded schraders. They are typ...

Last but not least, anyone have anymore tips to make this gun fire to it's full potential? If it is just for a grade on a project, I wouldn't worry too much about "full potential." I made every design mistake in the book building my first pneumatic -- unmodded sprinkler valve, too much dead space, ...

baghdad skeet shoot

I came across this in The Register today. Turns out that Dean Kamen (the Seqway guy) has invented a spudgun that shoots people. The article is here: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/05/16/man_slinger/ The patent is here: <a href="http://appft1.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO1&Sect2=HITOFF&d=...

Ham radio types use spudguns to "launch" antenna rigs -- an application very similar to yours. Here's a link to some designs that could be easily modified:

I recently made a gun with a 2" chamber, 1/2" barrel, BBQ sparker ignition. It's really unreliable because air/fuel ratio is critical. But when I get it just right (Right Guard fuel), it's very satisfying. Anybody know a way of reliably charging a chamber this small?
