I believe he was using propane because the amount of potential energy stored in liquid form is much higher than a tank at the same pressure but with a gas in vapour form. Think about this: The pressure in the chamber got to 200 PSI. that is the vapor pressure in those conditions. When you open the v...

I've found a pump called the jet black littlefella in australia for $35 that pumps to 260 PSI. But like freak said the nature of the ace 3 is its ability to pump quickly AND at high pressure. Also I bet the ace could go a lot higher than 260. Whereas those cheaper ones will max out at a lower pressu...

sin(4 deg.)=(opposite side)/(hypotenuse)

sin of four degrees pretty much needs to be done with a calculator...

0.0697564737=(opposite side)/(hypotenuse)

we want to draw a simple triangle so lets make the opposite side 1cm:

1/0.0697564737=hypotenuse
hypotenuse=14.34

That's a really interesting thought-perhaps the mag could literally be a cloud bbmg. The barrel outlet could go straight up into the hopup chamber. You could fit 2000 rounds into a decent size cloud chamber and run it that way.

Just coil a bunch of the tube in a box mag. I thought that was what you were doing anyway. Nothing will be more efficient than coiling it up in an organised way in a box. EDIT I see the air inlet is not from the mag tube but from the side... Make a box mag with coiled tube and make an attachment to ...

I agree, from what I can tell GGDT does not seem to decrease the energy enough when you decrease projectile size for a given bore.

your worries are absolutely founded, If the first one fell apart then this one could burst suddenly and hit you.

Why not just pump it up with your pump around a corner or something? Just shield yourself.

100 PSI is about the max working pressure for vinyl. It usually bursts around 350PSI so you should be fine.

Even if it did burst it is so soft it would hardly pose much threat of physical harm.

The problem with the screw design is that it will either not put on much spin, or it will completely block the barrel. Why? Look at airsoft hopup designs. The thing that pushes against the bucking (the rubber around the barrel) is pushed down by another little nub of rubber, this little nub is pushe...

I don't know if anyone has ever come up with a coax breech loader. You'd probably go insane trying to put it together.

Now THAT is cool. The gun is just a QEV gun but your mortar idea could have awesome implications for an airsoft or paintball game. The gun is very well built too.

You need to understand what makes the noise in the first place in order to understand how it is silenced, Hilo. Spudguns make a bang because the gas that pushes the projectile out of the barrel is at a different pressure to the atmosphere, even after it leaves the barrel. When you fire a spudgun, th...
