Sorry I used the wrong word there :D Replace the paper with fins, add a bullet shape cone... so many modifications I dont even know how to call them anymore :D I really dont like using sabots, they can be a hazard to someone standing by and not to mention they are a pain to make fast in large number...

This posting shows some dart ideas. Ready made ones by Ramset or Remington. http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/nail-dart-sabot-t19586.html Have a look here for center of pressure calculations; http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/unstabilised-projectiles-t19849.html I checked your links but I dont see a wo...

If I shouldnt put the cog in front, where should it be? I'm kinda confused here. Shouldnt the cog be at least 60% the length of the dart away from the tail end to achieve stable flight? Its not hard to change the cog with those darts, I just need to know where to put it :D Also, what other forms wou...

I've seen this before and I really dislike the design, it just doesnt make sense to me. I can tell you right now its very unstable. The whole concept of darts is to have a light tail extend back away from the heavy tip. Like this you have a light tip and a heavy tail. Chances are, the dart will flip...

Alright not rly 10cm at 100 meters, I guess I was exaggerating a bit there. Perhaps at 50 meters? There are quite a few methods to make the dart centered. You can use sabots, another cone to act as a centering device and add fletchings to it for spin, small fins to center the dart and make it more s...

Small bore vs. big bore - bullet performance

I've been making nail darts for about 1 year and never really complained about the 10cm grouping at 10 meters. But now I'm looking towards 10cm grouping at 100 meters and my old darts just cant fly so good. My barrels are 12.70mm in diameter and shoot nail darts with a 7cm nail. I've done some exper...

If its hard to move then it wont open at lower pressures... right? If you could make the piston move easily but seal 100% with O rings you'd have a real winner :D Unfortunately if the piston moves easily it starts to leak air around itself. You really got to balance adequate seal and ease of movemen...

For my piston sniper rifle I had to place 2 schraders behind the piston. One is for filling and the other will be hooked up to a trigger system. In order to connect them I had to use a T piece and that makes a lot of dead space. To reduce it, I filled the entire T piece with rubber gaskets leaving a...

Ballvalve is the winner. Make it a spring assisted ballvalve, then you could make a trigger mechanism so you also have to pull 1 ounce to pilot the qev. I am planning to do it too. :) There just has to be a better and cleaner looking way to do this. I refuse to think that these things are limited t...

Nice gun :D Is that a G&P comp ML2? If I'm right then its 4moa witch is kinda big for long range. When you sight it in, place the target right above the dot so you can still see the target if shooting more then 50m away. Thats what I did with my M4 and it works great :D

We should make people aware of all safety rules. If I didnt knew them, all those nail dart misfires would of ended up in my foot (or somewhere else) rather then downrange :D

You could get a 1/2 - 3/8 or 1/2 - 1/4 reducer with threads on the outside, grind off the hexagonal pieces for the wrench and screw it into the Tee with the 3/8 or 1/4 side pointing to the piston. Thats what I did and it works great.
